The 37th Annual Molecular Parasitology Meeting (MPM # # ) will take place from 13–17 September 2026, convening researchers from across the world to exchange ideas and advance collaboration in molecular parasitology.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person sessions at the Marine Biological Laboratory, USA, alongside virtual participation. Travel awards will be available for students and postdoctoral researchers, with a March 1 deadline, and virtual fee waivers offered for participants from low- and middle-income countries.

WACCBIP engaged with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in a meeting focused on sharing priority areas for the year and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The discussions also allowed WACCBIP to obtain feedback on its activities implemented over the past year, with GIZ offering constructive responses and recommendations. The meeting strengthened dialogue between both institutions and reaffirmed their commitment to continued partnership and collaboration.

Creative Problem Solving Workshop | Day 1 & 2 Highlights
Our 2-day Creative Problem Solving (CPS) workshop was a fun, engaging, and insightful experience focused on strengthening communication, collaboration, teamwork, conflict resolution, and role clarity.
Facilitated by Prof. Lydia Mosi, the sessions featured hands-on activities and practical discussions aimed at improving team effectiveness. Ewurama Benin joined online to deliver an interactive presentation on perception and perspective, while Miss Fafa Gbeho of Global Media Alliance led a thought-provoking session on work ethics and appropriate workplace behaviours.
A valuable learning experience with practical takeaways for a more effective and collaborative work environment.

Upcoming Workshop: ARTIC Viral Genomics Training
WACCBIP, in collaboration with the ARTIC Network, is hosting a hands-on workshop on the ARTIC amplicon-based sequencing method for real-time viral outbreak surveillance. The training will cover the full workflow—from sample preparation to data analysis.
Who should apply: Researchers and public health laboratory staff with a background in molecular biology and an interest in outbreak genomics.
