Regent Entrepreneurship Competition - REC Official page for the Regent Entrepreneurship Competition. REC is an entrepreneurship competition to be organized on annual basis.

It aims to nurture entrepreneurial culture among young students (from various disciplines). REC aims to encourage the transformation of innovative ideas into real business opportunities and also to launch technology-based companies in cutting-edge fields. In the framework of the competition, the participants may be individuals or teams with complementary skills for the development of their busines

s plans and its implementation for a high-tech start-up company. The REC is open to teams and individuals who are students of Regent University, have innovative business ideas relating to the use of technology and are interested in taking up the challenge. Prior experience in founding start-ups is not necessary. Participants will be assisted and guided at all stages of the competition through a series of lectures, workshops and ongoing support from appointed mentors, as well as access to relevant literature and tools. A jury of experienced entrepreneurs, academics and investors will evaluate the submitted business plans and select the winners after the implementation stage. The best three participants would be selected and awarded at the end of the competition – 1st, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up. Prizes to be awarded may include internship opportunities with selected companies to gain relevant business experience with one year professional mentorship and cash prizes to be decided by organizers. Each student who takes part in the competition would be issued a certificate of participation. Participation in the competition may be assessed as a valuable learning experience in itself, as participants are guided step by step in the development of their business plans till implementation. It is expected that participants in the REC would be equipped with business planning and entrepreneurial skills. Another tangible benefit offered through participation in the competition is the opportunity to attract funding from potential investors for business ideas.
