A number of our learners proudly participated in Code Afrique 2026, a high-impact four-day summer programme organised by Academic City University, Ghana, in partnership with Cornell University’s Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, USA.

The programme provided an exciting platform for students to explore coding, artificial intelligence, data science, technology and innovation, while engaging in mentorship, career exploration and leadership development.

Through hands-on learning and interaction with international faculty, our learners gained valuable exposure to global academic pathways and the possibilities within STEM.

We are proud to see our learners embracing opportunities that inspire curiosity, innovation and purposeful discovery—and equipping themselves to become the technology leaders of tomorrow.

“Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” — Theodore Roosevelt

We kicked off Day One of our five-day Staff Bootcamp at our Accra campus with these powerful words, shared by our Managing Director and Co-Founder, Dr. Charles Yeboah, during his keynote and welcome address.
Dr. Yeboah unpacked what it means to lead with kindness, compassion and meaningful relationships—not only in how we engage with our students, but also in how we support and connect with our colleagues and the wider school community.

Our theme for this school year is:
Relationship, Kindness and Compassion: Resetting the Agenda for Better School Outcomes.

The day was filled with deep-dive sessions, meaningful conversations, reflections and bonding activities that gave us the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen our connections and reflect on how we can show up better for our students and for each other.

As we begin this five-day journey, we are reminded that better school outcomes are built on more than knowledge and strategy. They are also built on the relationships we nurture, the kindness we show, and the compassion we extend.

Here’s to five days of learning, connection, growth and renewed purpose as we prepare for another impactful academic year.

A big thank you to Peeva Mineral Water for sponsoring this session and supporting our staff development.

Meet Lydia Ama Ntowah Nkansah, a 2016 graduate of ICS, now a medical doctor and anaesthesia resident at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in Kumasi.

For Lydia, some of her most lasting memories of ICS are the friendships she made and the skills she gained through Round Square—experiences that helped shape her into a well-rounded person beyond academics.

Her advice to today’s students? Put God first, believe in yourself, try new things and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s where some of the best learning happens.
