In March 1956, the Accra circuit of the Methodist church controled by the Methodist Church in Accra decided to establish a secondary school within the Jurisdiction of the Accra District of the Church. Addo, a superintendent Minister of The Methodist Church in Accra, and Messrs Robert Dodoo and Barnett Caulley, a Secondary school named Wesley Boys High School under the headship of the late Rev.
