Ahead of the National Schools Awards, GALOP Edition, the National Schools Inspectorate Authority convened a dissemination forum at the Mensvic Hotel to present the GALOP Endline Inspection Findings, Recommendations, and Action Points.

The forum brought together key stakeholders to reflect on the progress made under the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) and discuss strategies for sustaining and improving learning outcomes in underserved schools.

The event was graced by the Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak (MP) alongside officials from the Ministry of Education, development partners, education agencies, Regional and District Directors of the Ghana Education Service headteachers, teachers, learners, and other stakeholders, reaffirming their collective commitment to advancing quality education in Ghana.

The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) successfully hosted the maiden National Schools Awards, GALOP Edition at the Mensvic Hotel, under the theme, "Resetting Education for Better Learning Outcomes."
The awards ceremony celebrated schools in underserved communities that have demonstrated remarkable improvement in learning outcomes through the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP). The initiative reflects NaSIA's commitment to recognising excellence, encouraging continuous improvement, and promoting quality education across Ghana's pre-tertiary education sector.

The event was graced by the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu (MP), who commended the award-winning schools, teachers, and education stakeholders for their unwavering dedication to improving teaching and learning. He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to implementing policies and interventions that will enhance educational outcomes and ensure that every Ghanaian child has access to quality education.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Clement Abas Apaak (MP), together with officials from the Ministry of Education, representatives of the World Bank, Bank of Ghana, development partners, sister education agencies, Regional and District Directors of the Ghana Education Service, school leaders, teachers, learners, and other key stakeholders, all united in their commitment to transforming education in Ghana.
In his address, the Inspector-General of Schools, Prof. Tahiru Salifu Azeko, emphasised the importance of recognising schools that have demonstrated resilience, commitment, and measurable progress despite challenging circumstances. He noted that the awards are intended not only to celebrate achievement but also to inspire schools across the country to pursue continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of quality.
Prof. Azeko expressed profound appreciation to the World Bank for its invaluable support through GALOP, as well as the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, development partners, and sister agencies whose collaboration made the initiative a success. He further reaffirmed NaSIA's commitment to strengthening school quality assurance and expanding the National Schools Awards to include more schools in future editions.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to deserving schools that excelled in various categories, recognising their outstanding progress and commitment to improving learning outcomes with Tamale International Basic School as the overall performing school.
The National Schools Awards, GALOP Edition marks an important milestone in Ghana's education transformation journey, reinforcing the belief that recognising excellence inspires greater commitment, innovation, and accountability throughout the education sector.
NaSIA remains steadfast in its mandate to ensure quality standards through effective school inspections and licensing, while supporting schools to deliver improved learning outcomes for every Ghanaian child.
