THE CALL IS FOR THE WORK

KEY SCRIPTURE
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
— Ephesians 4:11–12 (KJV)

MESSAGE
God has not called us merely to occupy positions, carry titles, sing, dance, usher or participate in church activities. All these things have their place, but they must ultimately lead us into the work of the ministry.
In Acts 13, the church at Antioch had prophets and teachers. But as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Their calling was connected to a work that had to be done.
This should cause every believer to ask: Am I working? Am I fulfilling the purpose for which God has called me?
The purpose of strong Christian fellowship and dedication is to produce disciples, evangelists, shepherds, pastors, teachers and workers for the Kingdom of God. Our singing, serving and involvement in church should make us stronger and more committed so that we can reach people and help build the church.
The heart of God is the salvation of souls. Whatever gift, position or opportunity God gives you should eventually contribute to people knowing Christ. Do not become so focused on the activity that you forget the assignment.
Paul told Timothy:
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”
— 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)
A true disciple produces other disciples. A faithful worker helps raise other faithful workers. God wants what He has deposited in you to be passed on to others.
Therefore, do not major in the minor and minor in the major. Your title is for the work. Your gift is for the work. Your leadership is for the work. Your dedication is for the work.
Rededicate yourself today. Ask God for grace to labour faithfully and ensure that His grace upon your life is not in vain.
The question is not only, “What position do I hold?” The greater question is: “Am I doing the work?”

PRAYER
Father, thank You for calling me into Your work. Forgive me for every time I have focused more on titles, positions and activities than on Your purpose. Give me the heart of a true shepherd and a passion for the salvation of souls. Help me to work faithfully, raise disciples and build Your church. By Your grace, let my calling produce lasting fruit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

CONFESSION
I will do the work of God. I will not waste the grace upon my life. My gifts, opportunities and position will serve God’s purpose. I will raise disciples, reach souls and faithfully fulfil my calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

BE A BURNING AND A SHINING LIGHT

KEY SCRIPTURE
“He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.”
— John 5:35 (KJV)

MESSAGE
God has saved you and given you a task to complete. Your calling is not merely about receiving blessings; God wants your life to become a burning and shining light that leads others to Him.
John the Baptist was described by Jesus as a burning and shining light. His life had an impact because he faithfully fulfilled the assignment God gave him. In the same way, we must desire that the years ahead of us will count for the purposes of God.
There will always be challenges, disappointments, hurts and distractions, but these things must not cause us to abandon our calling. The main purpose is to complete the task God has given us.
Philip is another example. When the Ethiopian eu**ch needed someone to guide him, Philip responded. He opened his mouth and preached Jesus to him. He did not allow tiredness, past hurts or difficulties to stop him. Through his obedience, a life was changed.
We must also refuse to close our mouths. Scripture teaches us to remain ready in season and out of season. Even when circumstances are difficult, our faithfulness, zeal and perseverance must continue to produce fruit.
Your career, education, marriage, business and achievements have their place, but they must never replace the main assignment of God upon your life. Ask God to make you a light that draws people to Jesus.
Also ask the Lord to search your heart. Let Him reveal every form of pride, weakness or attitude that could bring you down. Whatever could prevent you from completing your assignment, receive grace to overcome it.
For the next five years of your life, determine to burn brighter, shine further, reach more people and faithfully complete the task God has given you.

PRAYER
Father, in the name of Jesus and on the grounds of the blood of Jesus, make me a burning and a shining light. For the next five years of my life, let my life bring glory to You and draw many people to Jesus. Reveal every pride and weakness in me that could bring me down, and give me grace to overcome. Restore my zeal, strengthen my faith, and help me to complete the task You have given me. May my light shine brightly for Your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

DECLARATION
I am a burning and a shining light. I will not abandon my calling. I will overcome every distraction, open my mouth, preach Jesus and complete the task God has given me. My life will shine for the glory of God!

BE FAITHFUL ALWAYS

KEY SCRIPTURE
“Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer... be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”
— Revelation 2:10 (KJV)

MESSAGE
God is looking for people who will remain faithful—faithful in prayer, faithful in giving, faithful in obedience, and faithful to the assignment He has given them.
Cornelius was a man who gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always. His consistency became a memorial before God. Heaven took notice of his giving and his prayers.
This teaches us that our walk with God is not for a week, a year, or only when things are going well. Faithfulness is a lifetime commitment. Do not become tired because you have prayed for a long time. Pray always. Give faithfully. Serve faithfully. Obey continually.
Faithfulness is also revealed through obedience. Your level of obedience demonstrates your level of faith, and your faith positions you to experience the power of God. When God sends you, go. When He gives you an assignment, do it exactly as He has instructed you.
God does not call you without a purpose. There is something He wants to accomplish through your life. You may see your shortcomings, but God sees what you can become through His grace. He often chooses ordinary people and works through them for His glory.
Therefore, accept the call and remain at your post. Trials, disappointments and difficult seasons may come, but do not abandon a permanent calling because of a temporary difficulty.
Be faithful even unto death. One day, the faithful will receive the crown of life.
Pray always. Obey always. Serve always. Remain faithful always.

PRAYER
Father, give me the grace to remain faithful unto death. Help me to be consistent in prayer, giving, serving and obeying You. Deliver me from discouragement and distractions. Help me to accept Your call and do exactly what You have sent me to do. May I finish my assignment faithfully and receive the crown of life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

CONFESSION
I will remain faithful. I will pray always. I will obey God and remain committed to His calling upon my life. I will not give up because of temporary difficulties. By the grace of God, I will finish my assignment and receive the crown of life.

MINISTRY IS WHAT GOD IS DOING

KEY SCRIPTURE
“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:1 (KJV)

MESSAGE
Ministry is not simply what you want to do for God. Ministry is what God is doing and allowing you to be part of.
God has a purpose on the earth, and by His mercy He calls people to participate in it. When God calls you, He is summoning you to become useful in His plan. Your responsibility is therefore not to create your own assignment, but to discover what God is doing and faithfully obey His instructions.
This is why obedience is so important. Jonah was told where to go and what to preach. Moses was called because God had seen the affliction of His people. Paul was called to become a minister and a witness. In each case, the assignment originated with God, not man.
Your level of obedience reveals your level of faith. When God says go, go. When He says serve, serve. When He says preach, preach. When He gives you an assignment, do not abandon it simply because it becomes difficult.
Second Corinthians 4:1 reminds us that because we have received this ministry through God's mercy, we do not faint. Hardship, tiredness, criticism, inconvenience and disappointment may come, but they should not make us walk away from what God is doing.
Do not look at ministry as though a human being is merely giving you work. When God uses a pastor, leader or spiritual authority to direct you into His purpose, recognize that God Himself may be working through that instruction.
Do not become tired of being useful to God. Sometimes the reward for faithfulness is more work, more responsibility and greater opportunities to serve. Instead of asking for less, ask God for more grace and strength.
Say in your heart:
“By the grace of God, I am not tired. I will not throw in the towel. I will not desert my post. Lord, give me grace to continue in what You have called me to do.”
Temporary difficulties are part of the journey. God sees what you cannot see and knows what you do not know. Surrender your plans to Him and allow His will to prevail.
You are called. Stay faithful. Stay obedient. Keep serving. Ministry is what God is doing—and it is a privilege that He has allowed you to be part of it.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for the mercy and privilege of being part of what You are doing. Help me to recognize Your call and obey Your instructions faithfully. Deliver me from stubbornness, weariness, discouragement and the desire to abandon my assignment. Give me strength to serve You through every difficulty. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see Jesus and do Your work again in my life. By Your grace, I will not faint, I will not give up, and I will remain faithful to Your call until the end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DECLARATION

IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO BE CALLED

KEY SCRIPTURE
“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not.”

MESSAGE
To be called by God is a great privilege. God could have chosen anyone, yet in His mercy, He selected you and invited you to become part of what He is doing. Ministry is not merely something we do for God; ministry is God allowing us to participate in His work.
When God called Samuel, Samuel answered, “Here am I.” When Jesus called James and John, they left what they were doing and followed Him. The call of God deserves a response because it is a special summons from God for His purpose.
Do not allow offence, disappointment, hardship or discouragement to make you throw up your hands and walk away from what God has entrusted to you. Difficulties may come, but ask God for grace to remain faithful. What He has called you to do is an honor, not a burden.
Remember that God's purpose will continue. If one person refuses to be available, God can raise another. Judas lost his place and another person was chosen. Therefore, guard your heart against pride, jealousy and offence. Position yourself well for God to continue using you.
Never forget: you were selected by grace. You may not consider yourself the best or most qualified, but God chose you. Appreciate your calling, respect your assignment and remain faithful to what He has placed in your hands.
Don't throw away the privilege. Don't walk off the job. Stay available. Stay faithful. Let God use you.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for the privilege of calling me and allowing me to participate in Your work. Forgive me for the times I have not valued Your calling. Give me the grace to remain faithful through every difficulty. Create in me a right heart and deliver me from offence, pride, jealousy and discouragement. Help me never to throw away the privilege You have given me. May I remain available and useful to You all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

DECLARATION
I am called by God. His calling upon my life is a privilege. I will not throw up my hands and walk away. By His grace, I will remain faithful, available and committed to His work.

GO DEEPER WITH GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE
“The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.”
— Lamentations 4:12 (KJV)

MESSAGE
God is calling us to go deeper. We cannot afford to remain casual, shallow or comfortable in our walk with Him. We must be willing to learn, unlearn and relearn until our hearts and lives are transformed by His Word.
Lamentations 4:12 describes something the people never imagined could happen—the enemy entered the gates of Jerusalem. It reminds us that unexpected attacks can come when we are spiritually unprepared. Therefore, we must become deep, watchful and prayerful believers.
Do not allow the enemy to gain access to your mind, heart or imagination. Guard your purity. Reject every thought, influence and distraction that seeks to draw you away from God. Jesus said that the pure in heart shall see God.
Going deeper requires sacrifice. Give up comfort when necessary. Seek transformation. Study the Word. Pray earnestly. Desire spiritual understanding. Do not be satisfied with merely knowing about God; desire to know Him personally and deeply.
Pray also for God's protection over your life, family, loved ones, health, marriage and future. Ask Him to intercept every unexpected attack and every scheme designed to distract you from His purpose.
Most importantly, develop depth in the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your understanding and give you insight into Scripture. The deeper your roots grow in God, the stronger you become when unexpected battles arise.
Refuse to remain shallow. Go deeper in prayer. Go deeper in the Word. Go deeper in purity. Go deeper in your relationship with God.

PRAYER
Father, have mercy on me and draw me deeper into You. Deliver me from spiritual shallowness and complacency. Give me insight and understanding of Your Word. Purify my heart, mind and imagination. Protect me and my loved ones from every unexpected attack, and help me to remain spiritually watchful. Transform my heart and my life until I become everything You have called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DECLARATION
I will not be a shallow Christian. I will go deeper in God, deeper in prayer and deeper in His Word. My heart and mind are guarded, my life is covered by the blood of Jesus, and I will grow in spiritual understanding and maturity. Amen.

RESPOND TO THE CALL OF GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace.”

MESSAGE
God has not only saved you; He has called you. His call upon your life is not casual. To be called means to be summoned, invited, appointed and set apart for His purpose.
Your ambitions, career, education, marriage and material desires have their place, but they must never become greater than God's purpose for your life. Scripture tells us to set our affection on things above. Focus on the calling and be serious with what God has called you to do.
God has called us because there are many people to be saved. Our gifts, ministries and opportunities should become instruments for reaching people with the gospel. Wherever God gives us an opportunity, we should be willing to go, serve, preach, witness and bear fruit for His Kingdom.
Paul was called according to the will of God. Moses heard God call his name from the burning bush. Zacchaeus was personally summoned by Jesus. In the same way, God is calling you. Do not treat His call as something you can casually abandon whenever you become tired, discouraged or distracted.
Do not allow the enemy to convince you that you are behind in life or that nothing good is happening to you. Your story is changing. Keep your heart fixed on God and continue faithfully in the assignment He has given you.
God's call is an honor. Respond to Him with your whole heart:
“Lord, I give You my heart. I give You my soul. I live for You alone. Have Your way in me.”

PRAYER
Father, thank You for saving me and calling me according to Your purpose. Give me grace to take Your calling seriously. Deliver me from distractions and discouragement. I surrender my heart, gifts, time and future to You. Help me to bear fruit and bring many people to Jesus. Holy Spirit, have Your way in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TODAY’S DECLARATION
I am saved and called by God. I will respond to His call, live for His purpose and bear fruit for His Kingdom.

OBEY THE CALL OF GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE
“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness…”
— Acts 26:16 (KJV)

MESSAGE
There is a call of God upon your life, and God wants you to respond to it.
Your career, business, education, music, media work, and personal ambitions may be important, but they are not the ultimate purpose for which God saved you. Like Paul, you have been called to become a minister and a witness of what God has done in your life.
Sometimes the call comes through a strong conviction in your heart. At other times, God may use another person to awaken you to your assignment. Aaron was called to serve alongside Moses, and Joshua was raised through his relationship with Moses. Do not ignore what God continually lays upon your heart.
You can begin with the people around you. Invite your colleagues to church. Reach out to your friends. Speak to people at school and at work. Bring someone to midweek service. Fish for souls and bring people into the Kingdom of God. Be devoted to Christ and His work. Christianity is not meant to be lived only for ourselves.
Do not disqualify yourself from God's call because you feel inadequate. God calls people who feel like failures, people who feel unworthy or rejected, people who struggle with fear and inferiority, people who are not eloquent, and even people who have attempted ministry before and failed.
Moses asked, “Who am I?” because he felt inadequate for the assignment God was giving him. Yet God still chose him. Gideon struggled to see himself the way God saw him, yet God called him. Timothy was young and faced enormous responsibilities, yet God used him.
Your weakness does not automatically cancel your calling.
You may feel too young, too afraid, too ordinary, or as though you have nothing to offer. Your family background may not be impressive, and people may not respect or believe in you. God can still call and use you.
The important question is not whether you feel qualified. The question is whether you will obey the call.
When God places something on your heart, ask Him for the grace, wisdom, and strength to do it. Stop choosing only the things you are comfortable doing for God. Become available for whatever He wants you to do.
There is something God wants you to do. Give yourself to His call and become fruitful for His Kingdom.

PRAYER
Father, grant me the grace to obey Your call. Give me the wisdom, strength, and courage to do everything You are laying upon my heart. Help me overcome fear, feelings of inadequacy, and every excuse that keeps me from serving You. Make me a fruitful minister and witness, and use my life to bring others into Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

CONFESSION
I am called by God. I will not allow fear, weakness, rejection, or feelings of inadequacy to stop me. By the grace of God, I will obey His call, serve His purpose, reach others, and bear fruit for His Kingdom. Amen.

STAY IN THE LORD’S GARDEN

KEY SCRIPTURE
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”�— John 15:16 (KJV)

MESSAGE
There is a call of God upon your life.
You were not saved merely to live for yourself, pursue your career, make money, build a family, and eventually leave this earth. God has called you because there is something He wants you to do for His Kingdom.
Jesus did not only call His disciples to follow Him; He sent them. In the same way, there comes a time when every believer must move from only receiving to becoming someone God can use to reach others.
You have been taught so that you can teach somebody. You have been helped so that you can help somebody. You have been strengthened so that God can use you to strengthen somebody.
Look for a need and meet that need. Look for a hurt and heal that hurt.
Your workplace can become your mission field. Your school can become your mission field. Your community can become your mission field. Wherever God has placed you, there are people He wants to reach through you.
Never allow the enemy to convince you that serving God is a waste of your time, money, energy, or opportunities. The message repeatedly declares, “It is not a waste of time.” Even in the midst of troubles, the believer must receive grace not to abandon the call.
The Lord’s garden is about people and souls. God has placed us in His garden to bear fruit. You are His fellow worker, called to participate in what He is doing on the earth.
Do not allow disappointments, difficulties, personal ambitions, distractions, or deceptive voices to pull you away from that garden. Be careful about the voices you allow to shape your convictions. Stay with the Scriptures and remain grounded in the truth God has given you.
The call of God is not a burden to despise; it is an honor to embrace.
It is an honor to serve God.�It is an honor to win souls.�It is an honor to care for people.�It is an honor to become a vessel through whom somebody encounters Jesus.
Whatever your profession may be, there is still a divine assignment upon your life. You can be an engineer and answer the call. You can work in a bank and still be a missionary there. You can be a businessman, student, professional, husband, wife, father, or mother and still make your life available to God.
God is waiting for your response.
Do not abandon the call because life becomes difficult. Do not walk away because you have been hurt. Do not allow the devil to prophesy you out of the Lord’s garden.
Stay in the Lord’s garden.
Keep serving.�Keep loving.�Keep reaching people.�Keep bearing fruit.
One day, when everything else has passed away, you will discover that giving your life to the purposes of God was never a waste.
By the grace of God, stay in the Lord’s garden and obey the call.

PRAYER
Father, thank You for the privilege and honor of Your call upon my life. Give me grace never to abandon Your assignment because of difficulties, disappointments, distractions, or deceptive voices. Keep my heart planted in Your garden. Use me to meet needs, heal hurts, reach souls, and bring people to Jesus. May my life bear fruit that remains. By Your grace, I will obey Your call and stay in Your garden. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DECLARATION
I am called, and I will obey the call. By the grace of God, I will not abandon my assignment. I will stay in the Lord’s garden, serve God faithfully, reach souls, and bear fruit that remains.

YOU WERE SAVED TO JOIN GOD IN HIS WORK

KEY SCRIPTURE
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”�— Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)

MESSAGE
You were not saved merely to pursue education, marriage, career, money, travel, possessions or personal comfort.You were saved for a divine purpose—to join God in the work He is doing.
When God saves one person, He desires to use that person to reach others. Acts 16:31 reminds us, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Your salvation should become a doorway through which others encounter Christ.
One of the greatest dangers is to bury yourself in yourself—becoming so consumed with your ambitions, needs, comfort and problems that you have no time for God's Kingdom. That is a trap.
God is working in this generation: saving the lost, building His Church, raising disciples, sending missionaries and reaching nations. He is calling you to join Him.
Paul said:
“…necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”�— 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV)
We need that same holy compulsion—a heart that cannot remain indifferent while people need Christ.
Everything earthly will eventually pass away. Your position can be filled by another person, possessions can change hands, and human achievements will fade. But what you do for God has eternal significance.
Therefore, do not bury your life in temporary things. Bury yourself in the work God is doing. Give Him your time, strength, gifts, resources, youth, opportunities and your life.
The great question is not simply, “What did I achieve?” but:
“Did I join God in the work He was doing?”

PRAYER
Father, thank You for saving me. Give me the grace not to bury myself in myself. Deliver me from selfish living, distractions and excuses. Give me compassion for the lost and a holy urgency to fulfil my calling. Help me to give my time, strength, gifts and resources to Your Kingdom and to join You wholeheartedly in Your work.
Preserve me and deliver me from every evil work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

DECLARATION
I was saved for a divine purpose.�I will not bury myself in myself.�I will join God in the work He is doing.�I will give myself to His Kingdom.�By the grace of God, I will fulfil my calling and be fruitful for Jesus. Amen.
