The Spelling Bee - GH The National Spelling Bee is a literacy programme which teaches primary school children the effective use of the English Language.

Click to register: https://forms.gle/AwW6x5hi7A1rbF1y6 The Spelling Bee is a literacy programme that teaches primary children between ages 8 and 13, how to improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn and understand word concepts and develop English usage which will help them all their lives. TSB is a local version of the internationally acclaimed Scripps Spelling Bee, USA. The first

edition of TSB started in 2007 with only 6 schools, where Maria Isabel Kubabom of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Tema won and went on to the USA to represent Ghana. Maria’s then appearance at the 80th Scripps Spelling Bee made history as the first time an African was ever represented in this international contest. Ghana has since been the only African country participating. Ghana Education Service (GES) has endorsed this programme in Ghana. This year’s edition of TSB started May 2013 and will end in February 2014; Indomie Noodles is the title sponsor of The Spelling Bee. For the first time in The Spelling Bee history, we have been able to reach all 10 regions of Ghana! Thank you to both new and long-standing sponsors for making this possible.
