Malnutrition in children also known as undernutrition in children simply means lack of essential nutrients and vitamins a child needs to grow healthy. Mostly from infants and children under 5years of age to adolescence are at a particular risk of malnutrition. Some symptoms to look out for in a malnourished child are;

SYMPTOMS
Major simple ways to prevent malnutrition is to eat a healthy balanced diet. Parents, guardians and teachers should always make sure their wards and student don’t skip meals and aim to eat three small meals a day and two snacks a day. To prevent diseases such as measles, kwashiorkor, marasmus, ricket
and anemia.

TREATMENT PLAN
Simple treatment plan for malnutrition or undernutrition; Eating fortified foods that contains extra
nutrients.
1. Snacking between meals.
2. Having drinks that contain lot of calories.
3. Intake of vitamins and mineral supplements.
4. High energy and protein supplements foods.
