Today, as Nigeria celebrates its Independence Day, I am reminded of a story that reflects the spirit of our people. Imagine a young Nigerian, full of dreams, walking through the busy streets of Lagos or Abuja, feeling the weight of challenges power shortages, unemployment, and a system that sometimes feels slow to change. Yet, in that very struggle, there is a spark a resilience that refuses to be dimmed.

To all young Nigerians and Africans around the world, this spark is your power. Opportunities are everywhere sometimes hidden, sometimes disguised as obstacles. Yes, it is not easy. But as Professor Yemi Osinbajo often says, “Keep pushing, keep striving, and we will win eventually.” Your perseverance, creativity, and courage are exactly what Nigeria and Africa need.

I believe in the Nigerian spirit, in the African spirit the spirit that turns challenges into triumphs. The future is not something that happens to us; it is something we create. Every action, every idea, every step forward brings us closer to the Africa we want a continent of opportunity, unity, and progress.

So, rise with hope, act with purpose, and never underestimate the power of your persistence. The story of our future is being written by us, today. Let us write it boldly.

On March 21, 2024, at the Jubilee House, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Joachim Stamp, Special Commissioner for Migration Agreements from Germany. Diaspora engagement and the Global Compact on Migration were some key issues that were discussed.

Joined by delegations from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Ghana, Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany), and German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), we explored avenues for collaborative action.

I will be attending the Nkrumah Mandela Leadership Conference organized by the Kwame Nkrumah Center for Ideology, Governance, and Leadership. From the 20th to the 21 September 2023.

This conference is a remarkable opportunity to delve deep into the visionary ideas of two iconic leaders, Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela. I will be here to learn and absorb their wisdom, exploring their profound impact on Africa and the world. 🌍
