πŸ«€ HUMAN HEART β€” SIMPLIFIED BIOLOGY NOTES

The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the body. It helps deliver oxygen and nutrients while carrying away waste products.

❀️ MAIN PARTS OF THE HEART

1️⃣ Right Atrium – Receives deoxygenated blood from the body.
2️⃣ Right Ventricle – Pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs.
3️⃣ Left Atrium – Receives oxygenated blood from the lungs.
4️⃣ Left Ventricle – Pumps oxygenated blood to the whole body.

πŸ”„ HEART VALVES

πŸ”Ή Tricuspid Valve – Prevents blood from flowing backward between the right atrium and right ventricle.
πŸ”Ή Pulmonary Valve – Controls blood flow from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.
πŸ”Ή Mitral Valve – Controls blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle.
πŸ”Ή Aortic Valve – Controls blood flow from the left ventricle into the aorta.

🩸 MAJOR BLOOD VESSELS

β€’ Aorta – Carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the body.
β€’ Pulmonary Artery – Carries deoxygenated blood to the lungs.
β€’ Pulmonary Veins – Bring oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.
β€’ Vena Cava – Brings deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart.

Body β†’ Vena Cava β†’ Right Atrium β†’ Right Ventricle β†’ Pulmonary Artery β†’ Lungs β†’ Pulmonary Veins β†’ Left Atrium β†’ Left Ventricle β†’ Aorta β†’ Body

πŸ“š QUICK FACTS

πŸ«€ The heart has 4 chambers β€” 2 atria and 2 ventricles.
πŸ’“ A healthy resting heart typically beats around 60–100 times per minute.
🩸 The heart pumps several litres of blood around the body every minute.
πŸ”¬ Coronary blood vessels supply oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle.

🧠 REMEMBER:

Right side β†’ Deoxygenated blood πŸ”΅
Left side β†’ Oxygenated blood πŸ”΄
Valves β†’ Prevent backflow

🌟 7 TECHNIQUES EVERY PARENT CAN USE TO DISCOVER THEIR CHILD’S STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES 🌟

Every child is unique. Some children excel academically, while others shine through creativity, leadership, communication, problem-solving, sports, or social skills. As parents, our role is not only to identify weaknessesβ€”but also to discover, nurture and develop strengths.

Here are 7 practical ways to better understand your child:

1️⃣ Observe Their Behaviour – Pay attention to how they solve problems, respond to challenges and interact with others.

2️⃣ Talk & Listen to Them – Create an environment where they can freely discuss their interests, challenges, dreams and concerns.

3️⃣ Check Academic Performance – Identify subjects where they excel and areas where additional support may be needed.

4️⃣ Recognise Their Achievements – Celebrate both big and small successes. Recognition builds confidence and motivation.

5️⃣ Use Simple Assessments & Activities – Puzzles, quizzes, creative tasks and problem-solving activities can reveal abilities that may not appear in regular schoolwork.

6️⃣ Seek Feedback from Teachers & Mentors – Teachers spend significant time with children and can provide valuable insights into their learning styles, behaviour and development.

7️⃣ Track Progress Over Time – Keep an eye on their growth. Consistent observation helps you identify patterns and make better decisions about the support they need.

πŸ’‘ Remember: A weakness is not a permanent limitation. With the right guidance, encouragement and learning environment, children can develop the skills they need to succeed.

At Adepa Learning Centre, we believe every child has potential worth discovering and nurturing.

πŸ“˜ PERCENTAGE (%) β€” SIMPLE REVISION NOTES

1. What is Percentage?

* Percentage means β€œout of 100.”
* The symbol for percentage is %.
* Example: 25% = 25/100 = 1/4

2. Common Percentages to Remember

* 10% = 1/10
* 25% = 1/4
* 50% = 1/2
* 75% = 3/4
* 100% = 1

3. Finding a Percentage of a Number

Percentage of a number = (Percentage Γ· 100) Γ— Number

Example:
20% of 80

= 20/100 Γ— 80
= 16

4. Finding the Whole Number

When you know the percentage and its value:

Whole Number = (100 Γ· Percentage) Γ— Given Value

Example:
25% of a number is 30.

Number = 100 Γ· 25 Γ— 30
= 4 Γ— 30
= 120

5. Finding What Percentage One Number Is of Another

Percentage = (Part Γ· Whole) Γ— 100%

Example:
18 is what percent of 60?

= 18/60 Γ— 100%
= 30%

6. Percentage Increase and Decrease

Increase:
New Value = Old Value + Increase

Decrease:
New Value = Old Value βˆ’ Decrease

Example:
A bag costs $600 and increases by 20%.

20% of $600 = $120
New price = $600 + $120
= $720

If a jacket costs $800 and decreases by 15%:

15% of $800 = $120
New price = $800 βˆ’ $120
= $680

7. Word Problems

For percentage word problems:

1. Identify the whole number.
2. Identify the percentage.
3. Change the percentage to a fraction out of 100.
4. Multiply or divide carefully.
5. Check your answer.

⭐ Remember

Percent = Per Hundred

So, 50% means 50 out of 100, 25% means 25 out of 100, and 100% means the whole amount.
