MULTIPLICATION OF SURD
In multiplication of surd,u distribute
√9X4
We assume it has a co efficient of 1
1√9X4
=√9 X √4
=3X2
=6

E.g1 √3 (√2-3)
( ) it means multiplication
That means we will have to distribute
=√3 X √2 - √3 X 3
=√3 X √2 = √3X2
Therefore √3X2 - 3√3
NOTE: √3 X 3=3√3
√6 - 3√3
NOTE: in our previous lesson u can only subtract when the numbers in the root are the same.thank u

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION
To add or subtract surd, one must make sure the the numbers in the root(√) are the same and are in it simplest form
E.g 1 √27
=√3 X 9
=√3 X √9
=√3 X 3
=3√3
NOTE: in simplifying the numbers in the root,make sure it consit of a square number I.e the square root of 3 is 9 (√9=3 and 3²=9.
E.g 2 √12
=√3 X 4
=√3 X √4
=√3 X 2
=2√3
Now we can go ahead to add E.g 1 to 2 because the have same root(√3)
3√3 + 2√3
NOTE: when about to add, pick the constants and add or subtract them and pick one of the root.
Constant=3 and 2
3+2√3
5√3
The same rule applied to subtraction
