On Tuesday, 13th April 2021, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo commissioned Phase One of the B5 Plus Steel Plant, an enterprise operating under the One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) initiative.

The plant is a concrete manifestation of the new paradigm of economic development being vigorously pursued by the Akufo-Addo administration since 2017, which insists on value-addition industrial activities within a conducive and business-friendly environment.
