As part of the STEM 1st Phase End Evaluation & 2nd Phase Program In-depth Study, the KOICA Ghana Office, in collaboration with the MoE, GES, CENDLOS, NTC and NACCA, conducted a series of meetings, field visits, and workshops from September 24 to October 8.

In the Girls’ STEM KOICA project, we collaborated with the Seoul National University (SNU) Team to monitor beneficiary districts. We also engaged various stakeholders in discussions to enhance project outcomes.

The Girls’ STEM by KOICA project, with the cooperation of GES, proudly organized this ‘National Basic Schools Science and Math Quiz Competition’ to promote interest in science and mathematics among Junior High School students across all 16 regions of Ghana.
With intense competition from the regional to the national level, the quiz encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and academic excellence. The grand final showcased the brilliance and creativity of young minds, with prizes awarded to outstanding teams and teachers.

Today marked the 13th and final 2024 Project Steering Committee meeting for the Girls STEM, a KOICA and Ghana Education Service (GES) project. Held at the GES Conference Room, the meeting was an opportunity to celebrate significant achievements and strategize for the project’s successful completion by 2025.
Co-chaired by Mr. D**g Hyun Lee, Country Director of KOICA Ghana, and Mr. Stephen Owusu, Deputy Director General of GES, the event showcased the project’s progress in empowering girls through STEM education and advancing gender equality in the education sector.
Discussions focused on milestones achieved and key actions needed to sustain the project’s impact beyond its conclusion, ensuring a lasting legacy for Ghana’s future leaders in STEM.
