This is the first of many such conversations and events to be hosted by Ghana ASCD with local and foreign educational thought leaders as facilitators or speakers.

Ghana ASCD in a preliminary meeting with the MoE toward broad stakeholder engagements at the weeklong Ghana Education Partnership Mission.

Our first in-person Curriculum Writing Meeting is currently taking place in Kumasi.
We gathered experts from all over the country to develop a curriculum that would be used in piloting the Educational Leadership Program for the National Educational Leadership Institute (NELI).
NELI will chart a faster, more streamlined Leadership centered learning pathway for aspiring educational leaders to climb into leadership and for current leaders to assess the impacts made in their own capacities.

The organized a focus group meeting with us and the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) and Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS).
At the meeting, we discussed our role in the National Educational Leadership Program and deliberated on areas of alignment with private schools’ leadership.
We were received well and shown so much support!
The National Educational Leadership Institute (NELI) will develop into a dedicated organization that offers specialized, individually tailored professional development for educators, educational leaders, head teachers, among others involved in educational policy formulation.*

The Educational Leadership Program (Ed LD) by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Ghana is being facilitated by Ghana ASCD toward the establishment of the National Educational Leadership Institute, (NELI) purposed for transforming leadership in Ghana!
The project’s first stakeholder summit was held from the 22nd to the 23rd of August to get the buy-in, and dedication of key stakeholders.

At ASCD GHANA, we believe that are not only mandated to go through a set of written curricula. We believe in the spirit of leadership.
Once an educator understands their role in the lives of Ghana’s future leaders, they must learn to build children into the leaders the country needs.
Leaders, who are well equipped for Ghana’s growth and development.
This can truly happen if teachers learn to lead first.
