Happy 50th Golden AKA Anniversary to our International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed!

Initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Chi Chapter at Northwestern University on May 29, 1976, she has spent five decades embodying the core values of AKA.

Today, as a proud member of the Omicron Mu Omega Chapter in Dallas, TX, she continues to inspire us all.

We celebrate your legacy today, Madam President, as we continue to Soar to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood!

Saving one of the most magical stops for the finale.

To officially wrap up a phenomenal Spring 2026 Regional Conference season, I was thrilled to attend the historic 94th South Eastern Regional Conference in Birmingham, Alabama, themed “Soar in Power, Experience the Magic!”

A momentous highlight of the weekend was celebrating South Eastern Regional Director,
Dr. Tracey Morant Adams, as she concluded an exceptional four-year tenure of leadership during this administration. Her vision, dedication, and grace have left an indelible mark on the region, and it was a joy to share these meaningful conference moments with my Sister.

From impactful community moments with dynamic leaders like political leader and author Stacey Abrams, and Birmingham Police Department Chief Michael Pickett of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., to the incredible energy of the local chapters, the spirit of service on display was truly unmatched.

A heartfelt thank you to the South Eastern Regional Conference planning committee and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to execute such a phenomenal event.

What a beautiful journey these past few months have been. Thank you for the incredible hospitality, South Eastern Region that is officially a wrap on an unforgettable Spring season!

As my Regional Conference season travels continued, I was delighted to attend the 95th “Great” Great Lakes Regional Conference in Columbus, Ohio, themed “Soaring to New Heights: Blooming Beyond Boundaries.”

It was a joy to share meaningful moments with my Sister, Gwen Kirtley, as she concluded her final Regional Conference as Regional Director. Her leadership over the past four years has been marked by grace, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the Great Lakes Region. The legacy she leaves behind will continue to bloom beyond boundaries for years to come.

A special thank you to the spectacular Great Lakes Regional Conference planning committee, and everyone involved behind the scenes for executing such a phenomenal event.

The spirit of sisterhood, excellence, and service on display was truly inspiring.

Continuing my 2026 Regional Conference season travels, I had the pleasure of joining the Fabulous Far Western Region for the 97th Far Western Regional Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, themed “Phoenix Soaring: A New Rising in Sisterhood.”

I thoroughly enjoyed sharing meaningful moments throughout the conference with my Sister, Nichole S. Jordan, whose amazing leadership continues to inspire excellence, innovation, and sisterhood across the Far Western Region.

From the energy of the sessions to the spirit of fellowship on display, the conference reflected the strength and vision of a region committed to soaring higher together.

Continuing my 2026 Regional Conference season travels, I had the pleasure of joining the Confident & Captivating Central Region for the 92nd Central Regional Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, themed “Engineered in Excellence.”

I was especially pleased to spend time with my Sister, Kiahna W. Davis, as she led her final Regional Conference as Regional Director.

Her leadership has been truly exceptional, marked by an unapologetic commitment to excellence, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to guide and inspire the Central Region.

The precision, innovation, and sisterhood on display were a true testament to her impact!

Continuing my 2026 Regional Conference season travels, I had the pleasure of joining the Significant South Atlantic Region for the 73rd Regional Conference in Orlando, Florida, themed “73rd Mic Drop: SOARing in Sisterhood, in Perfect T.U.N.E.”

I was especially delighted to spend time with my Sister, Tiffany Moore Russell, Esq., as she led her final Regional Conference as Regional Director. Her leadership has been truly Significant, and the legacy she leaves behind will continue to resonate throughout the South Atlantic Region.

Another special thank you to the entire South Atlantic Region planning team for their energy, engagement, and sisterhood on display. Keep Soaring, my Sisters!

A message from our International President & CEO, Danette Anthony Reed:

As we observe Law Day and reflect on “The Rule of Law and the American Dream,” it is a time to remember that our voices and our votes are the foundation of that dream.

Recent judicial shifts have challenged the vital protections of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, protections that our predecessors fought tirelessly to secure. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® will not sit idly by as equity and access are diminished.

Sisters, we must remain resolute. We call on our lawmakers to restore these protections and on our communities to stay engaged and mobilized. Our legacy is one of advocacy, resilience, and resistance. Together, we will continue to hold leaders accountable and stand firm for justice.

Continuing my 2026 Regional Conference season travels, I had the pleasure of joining my home region Sisters of the “Sensational” South Central Region, for its Regional Conference, themed “The R.E.A.L. Deal: Betting on Service & Sisterhood.”

I was honored to receive beautiful pink tea roses from Dr. Shawn E. Simmons, South Central Regional Director, a reflection of the thoughtfulness and excellence she brings to her leadership.

She is truly The R.E.A.L. Deal, and her impact continues to uplift and inspire the South Central Region.

As we move forward, we do so with purpose, passion, and a continued commitment to service and sisterhood.

Grateful for the opportunity to share a moment during this Regional Conference season with my Sister, Nadine Vargas Stewart, Mid-Atlantic Regional Director, in celebration of her leadership and service to the Marvelous Mid-Atlantic Region.

Her tenure has been truly LEGENDARY, and her impact will continue to resonate across the region!

Together, we remain committed to Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.

What a wonderful time with our phenomenal sisters at the 96th Magnificent Mid-Western Regional Conference in Oklahoma City!

Gathering under the theme “Soaring with Purpose” was both inspiring and energizing, and the Mid-Western Region truly showed up with sisterhood, service, and excellence on full display.

Sending heartfelt thanks, and Pink Tea Roses, to Mid-Western Regional Director, Anika Starling as she celebrates her final conference in this role. Your leadership and dedication to the Mid-Western Region have been truly purpose-filled.
