It is important to note that *Counselling Theology* is the branch of theology that examines how biblical & psychological principles can be used to guide, heal, support, and counsel individuals in their personal, emotional, spiritual, and social lives.

*The School of Counselling Theology of the Faith Bible Theological College* offers Intensive Training In
*Biblical Counseling/Ministry.*

*This Course is all about the study and practice of applying biblical, psychological and theological principles to counseling people who are facing spiritual, emotional, relational, and personal challenges.* It combines:*Theology* _(the study of God, the Bible, and Christian doctrines)_ & *Counseling* _(helping people understand and deal with life's problems, emotions, relationships, and decisions)_.

*Purpose of Counselling Theology*
1. To help people grow spiritually & Psychologically.

2. To provide biblical guidance for life's problems.

3. To promote emotional and relational healing.

4. To strengthen marriages and families.

5. To assist people in making godly decisions.

*Difference Between Counselling Theology and Secular Counseling:*
1. Counselling Theology is Based on Scripture and Christian Principles, *while* Secular Counseling is based primarily on psychological theories

2. Counselling Theology focuses on spiritual as well as phychological needs. *While* Secular counseling Focuses mainly on emotional and psychological needs.

3. Counseling Theology sees God as central to healing and growth *while* secular counseling may or may not include spiritual considerations.

4. Counseling Theology uses therapeutic techniques, prayer and biblical guidance where appropriate *While* secular counseling uses therapeutic techniques without necessarily involving faith.

*Biblical Basis for the study Counselling*:
*Proverbs 11:14* – "In the multitude of counselors there is safety."

*Galatians 6:2* – "Bear one another's burdens."

*Romans 15:14 –* Believers are instructed to admonish and encourage one another.

*2 Timothy 3:16–17* – Scripture equips believers for every good work.

THEME:
*OUR PROBLEM AS CHRISTIANS IS GROSS IGNORANCE AND FALSEHOOD.*
The problem of Believers is not lack of power or lack of prayer. This is because from the Day each believer got saved, all the power he needs to reign in life over any challenges physical, spiritual etc has been given to him. God don't need to give him power again and again. It's once for all.

The problem is self inflicted foolishness and ignorance generated through religious falsehood feed the believers daily in "church" (religious system)

That's the reason it looks like they are powerless and handicap. They keep praying, declaring days of fasting for God to do something, while God has already empowered them to do all things.

But how can you do anything when you have been taught that you are weak, you need to pay some price for power, you need 30 days of power etc.

No wonder when Gideon was hiding, and complaining about the state of the nation, God didn't give him power, because he already has all the power, but fear paralysed him. He walked by sight, not by faith because he was ignorant of the enormous power in Him.

God instead encouraged him and said "go in THIS THY MIGHT".

He didn't know he had enough might to overcome the challenges of the nation.

Even at that, with all the encouragement, he still hardly believed in that encouragement. He still felt he needs many people to join him , but God said, you don't need more people, all you need is courage. Once you step out in faith, the God in you also steps out. He watches his word to PERFORM. If you don't act, nothing will happen.

That's the case with us. Jesus rose from the dead and gave power to all his disciples. He said " I got back all the power and authority, so go into all the world and be my ambassadors".

This go ye is not about pity party evangelism, it is the demonstration of the Spirit, not merely at church programs and special so called crusades. It is go into the world. Demonstrate everywhere you find yourself, in city and country sides. Office and home. Streets and market. It's not mere talk it's action. That's what preaching is about. Preach the word in season and out of season. By all the means you already have.

This authority and power is not given to selected few, it is for everyone in the body of Christ that are genuinely saved. Not for religious bigots. In Christ, we are *new humans created in Christ for every good work.*

Some pastors are used by Satan to further weaken powerful believers by telling them they the pastors have the power and their ministry organization is what God has empowered, so you need to come tap from them. No! You don't need any man's power, you have enough.

What we should do as pastors is to break the yoke of ignorance and falsehood in believers, and encourage them by the word of God to go in this might.

By faith we can do all things but We are destroyed not for lack of power or lack of prayer, but lack of knowledge. And knowledge is the fuel of faith. Without the right knowledge, you can't have effective faith.

Now you know, grow in grace as you grow in knowledge. Not knowledge that paralyze you, and make you running from post to post looking for "one strong man of God or prophetesses or so called seer" but knowledge that helps you know who you really are in Christ and the power loaded in you and how to effectively use it as Christ ambassadors on earth.

Opening eyes to divine realities is our mandate. Until you know the truth, you remain under the yoke of bo***ge. Jesus said "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you Free".

*Join us this Sunday as we further encourage you by God's word to be saved and empowered to represent God on earth. For those that has received his righteousness shall reign in life through Christ.*
