EVERYTHING ASTRONOMY SATURDAY 26TH AUGUST GMT – “Developing Experimental Satellites in Ghana”.

Satellites affect so many aspects of our everyday lives, including mobile telecommunications, television, weather forecasting, and navigation to name but a few, as well as providing invaluable information concerning our planet’s land, sea and atmospheric resources. So how can Ghana take advantage of this rapidly flourishing industry and utilize it for development? A great way to start is with CanSats, small experimental satellites that provide an ideal training ground for learning about satellite technologies.

This month our guest speaker, Eric Obeng (AKA Profesir, see full details below), Founder and CEO of Erictronics, will address the subject of CanSats, delving into their inherent advantages and rationale for garnering researchers' attention. He will also provide insight into the Ghana CanSat initiative, outlining the vision and mission aimed at advancing the space science industry within Ghana and the African continent. What’s more he will introduce a line of home-grown CanSat products, known as "Nyarkoa"!
