As parents, we sometimes tend to be judgemental even though we are unlikely to tag it 'judgemental'. Every now and then sharing of advice and experiences is a trait mothers adopt postpartum. We easily dish out friendly advice to other mothers even when not asked. Tit-bits on motherhood isn't so bad but to be, constantly on it comes off as being sanctimonious and exhausting on the mothers. Unless asked, I think we should keep shut. What do you ladies think?

What are some of the parenting moments you will never forget, good or bad? When you first held them in your arms? When you witnessed their first giggle? When they said something you thought they could never recollect? When they snitched on something you did when grandma arrives? *evil grin*

My ever first contact with a baby was when my kid sister was born. I was only 2!!! I remember vaguely what relationship we shared but I knew I was going to be ignored for a long time. Then came along another baby but not as a sister but as my first 'child'. I was 12 then!!! Trust me when I say I found my talent way before I could string meaningful words to form sentences. I clothed her, fed her and cleaned her with supervision. I got the hang on it so quickly I thought I was ready for motherhood. Hahahaha. Nobody is ever ready for motherhood. Every baby is unique. A skill that works perfectly for Ama might render you clueless when tried on Kofi. There are some basics that cuts across however; thanks to our mothers, aunties and midwives. To get your little one to eat more food, you have to......

Kudos to all mothers, grand mums, aunties and basically everyone who has provided any form of caregiving to our little angels. It is certainly a daunting and never ending cycle of tantrums, emotional roller coaster and that feeling of not doing enough for your little ones. Parenting and Guarding is joy and incredibly rewarding. Don't press the panic button JUST YET!!! A day at a time. Let's do this!!!
