Welcome to DWM School, Nima. Here, we help to nurture every child's interests.

In loving memory of our beloved founder, H.E. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

We share this tribute in honour of her family and her legacy, originally read at our August 2025 graduation ceremony.

May her courage, compassion, and dedication to empowering women and children continue to inspire all of us. Rest in peace, Mama.

************************************************

He was a true gentleman, so bold and bright,
Named Jerry John Rawlings at birth, he had a lot of might.

Through hard work, vision, and boldness, he carved a path,
JJ, or Papa J. he was mostly called—he was a Flight Lieutenant.

With diligence, discipline, and drive,
He saw a nation on the verge of breaking down and led the charge to help her survive.

His parents watched with surprise and with eyes so wide,
As their son led with power, triumph and pride.

He ruled with grit, he was firm and strong,
The hardworking, honest, incorruptible...felt they belonged.

But those who went astray,
They shivered when JJ passed their way.

Though he is gone, JJ's name lives on—
In many a Ghanaian's heart, the love is still strong.

On Burkina Faso's streets, they say,
“JJ's memory walks with us each day.”

But no man rises all alone,
There’s often strength behind the throne.

Her charm and grace lit up JJ’s life—
She stood beside him: a friend and a wife.

H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, her name,
A woman of boldness, not just fame.

She matched JJ's courage, step for step,
And empowered women to rise and help.

If today, our women rise with grace,
H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings helped them find their rightful place.

A woman of valour, fierce and wise,
She saw a need with a mother’s eyes.

H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings birthed the 31st December Women's Movement in 1981,
It wasn’t just about women.

The movement gave to children in many places hope and care,
In schools that said, "You matter here."

Many underprivileged children in deprived areas had a place for their nurture,
Giving them hope for the future.

Right here in Nima, dreams come true.
The 31st DWM School, Nima, is proof for you.

With teachers, parents, and hearts that give,
Children are taught to grow, to lead, and to live.

From H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings' own home, very valuable seeds were sown—a doctor who brings healing light,
A lawmaker who stands for right.

That’s Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, bold and presidential,
A role model, calm but influential.

The JJs raised a home both strong and kind,
With brilliant hearts and thoughtful minds.

Zanetor, Kimathi, Amina, and Yaa Asantewaa,
A family that embraces everyone.

So when we walk our schoolyard walls,
We feel H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ strength within these halls.

This is our story; our way,
We honour her in what we say.

We believe in hard work, discipline, and diligence...
These values help us take our place.

And here we stand, with heads held high—Because one woman dreamed we would fly.

💔💔💔

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved founder, and esteemed former First Lady of Ghana, H.E Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

As the 31st December Women's Movement School, Nima, we are forever grateful for her visionary leadership, and dedication to empowering women and girls through education.

She was a champion of women's empowerment, and her reign as First Lady of Ghana spanned decades; so was her influence, and the impact of her leadership will be felt for generations to come.

Through the 31st December Women's Movement, she established schools, Day Care centers, and created opportunities for the underprivileged, changing the lives of countless individuals.

Our school's existence is a testament to her tireless efforts to build dreams of many children, and we are proud to be part of her legacy. As a nation, we have lost a true leader, but her work will continue to inspire all of us to strive for excellence.

May her soul rest in peace, and may we continue to build on the foundation she laid for a better Ghana.

DWM School Shines in NCCE Quiz Competition

DWM School, Nima, emerged victorious in a recent quiz competition organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Ayawaso East District, under the theme, "Promoting Civic Awareness Among Young Learners."

The competition, held at the Kanda Library, in Accra, brought together four schools: DWM School, Nima, Kanda International; Nima "1" Basic School, and the Institute of Islamic Studies (Research), to compete for honours.

Our talented participants showcased exceptional wit and mastery, outshining the other schools to claim the top spot.

The competition mainly tested the young learners' knowledge of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, with a bit of history and current affairs.

Our students' impressive performance is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the school's commitment to ensuring that students do not only achieve academic excellence but also aware of their civic responsibilities.

The winners were awarded beautiful medals, and we proudly brought home the coveted trophy.

This is yet another achievement that represents a moment of immense pride for our students, teachers, and parents.

We congratulate our quiz champions on their outstanding achievement!

Sports and education: two paths, one destination - empowering young minds.

We are pleased to share that DWM School, Nima, has received an amazing donation of sports items from Mr. Kofi Bawuah, the Executive Director at Arthur Wharton Foundation, Ghana.

It is envisioned that this donation marks the beginning of effective collaborative efforts between the foundation and our school, where our talented students will get the necessary exposure to ensure their sports talents are nurtured and harnessed in the best way possible.

Our excitement is heightened by the fact that, in the next few weeks, officials from the foundation will begin weekly visits to our school to take our students and teachers through basic sports drills to ensure these donated items are put to good use, towards achieving the goals of this partnership.

This generous gesture will not only boost our students' athletic skills but also foster a love for learning, teamwork, and discipline. At DWM School, we believe in holistic education, and constantly work towards it, making this partnership just perfect for our vision.

Thank you, Mr. Kofi Bawuah, and Arthur Wharton Foundation, Ghana, for investing in our children's future.

Learning Beyond the Classroom!

Sweet Success! Our Grade 8 students took part in a practical session on making brown sugar as part of their extracurricular activities. After putting their knowledge of food hygiene and safety to good use, they're now whipping up a storm in the kitchen!
