Dr. Senanu Kwasi Dzokoto, Deputy CEO of NHIA, has announced the institution of the “Bernard Ahiafor Excellence Award” to honour the top three performing students in each year group at Abor Senior High School. He also donated GH¢10,000 to support the anniversary celebrations.

Special appreciation goes to Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, proud ABORSCO alumnus, for endorsing this initiative and pledging his full support. His commitment ensures this award will inspire generations of students to strive for excellence.

Yesterday was a historic day for Abor Senior High School as we gathered for a grand Durbar to celebrate our 60th Anniversary. It was a beautiful display of culture, pride, and the enduring spirit of our great institution!

The event was held under the distinguished chairmanship of Torgbui Tengey Dzokoto Gligui VII, whose presence added immense traditional grace to the occasion.

We were honoured to welcome a powerhouse of leaders, including a very special "Great Aborsco" Alumnus:
Hon. Bernard Ahiafor (Old Student): The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Akatsi South. There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing one of our own return to lead and give back!

Hon. John Dumelo: Representing the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in his capacity as the Deputy Minister for Agric and MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon.

Hon. James Gunu: The Volta Regional Minister.
Hon. Dzidzorli Gakpey: Member of Parliament for Keta.
Hon. Wisdom Bondzie Seade: Municipal Chief Executive for Keta.

From the inspiring speeches to the vibrant cultural performances, it was a day to remember. Together with the Abor Senior High School Old Students Association (ASSOSA), the staff, students, and the chiefs and people of Abor, we are charting a path for the next 60 years of impact.

Though the journey in the Volta-Oti Zonal Championship ended at the semifinals, we couldn't be prouder of our brilliant team!

In a contest filled with fierce competition and sharp minds, ABORSCO held their own with courage and determination. Scoring 22 points against a formidable school like KETASCO is no small feat. It's a testament to the hard work, resilience, and spirit of our students and mentors.

To our team: You may not have made it to the finals this time, but you've made us proud. Your journey doesn't end here. It's only the beginning of greater victories ahead. Keep your heads high, keep learning, and keep shining.
