Little Bears Nature Nursery & Pre-School Guernsey

🌿After a very busy summer fully merging and moving Little Bears Preschool into our beautiful new spaces at St Saviours Community Centre , the team and I are now excited to be working on the next phase of our journey.

🌱We are currently registering our preschool age group provision to include the Herm and Jethou rooms, alongside our very popular holiday club there for children up to six years old.

🍃By bringing our sites together and registering additional space, we have created larger, more flexible environments with improved smooth transitions and free flow for our over-3s. This gives the children more space to explore our areas of learning indoors, as well as dedicated areas for fundamental movement skills, yoga, music and movement — without everything having to be packed away between activities as before.

🍁Outside, we are also installing our much loved
log cabin, which will become our outdoor classroom. This has kindly been donated to the centre for the benefit of Little Bears, Floral St Saviour and the wider community. We now have an abundance of growing areas and natural habitats to explore.

🌻We are passionate about outdoor learning and want to create opportunities for children and families to get involved in planting and growing, to have a better understanding where our food comes from, and to learn more about sustainability and carefully caring for our environment.

🌼Inspired by wonderful local projects such as Les Adams Farm and Floral St Saviour, we hope to continue developing our own knowledge, skills and ideas, while sharing our passion for outdoor learning with others in our community.

🦋Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Every child who attends Little Bears helps us to invest more into our community, our environment, our ethos and our future projects and dreams.

🐝We are so excited about what the future holds and look forward to sharing this next chapter with you.

🌟We will organising some fundraising events and initiatives over the next year to fund any additions to our discovery and learning areas for our children aged 0-6 years, and will be sharing a wishlist.

What an emotional night. ❤️

The cabin is now safely off its base and, thankfully, still in one piece, awaiting its transfer to St Saviour’s Community Centre, where its donation will be used by ourselves, Floral St Saviour and the Community Centre.

There really aren’t enough words to thank the incredible people who gave their time, energy and determination last night. They simply refused to give up on something that means so much to our community. Watching our outdoor classroom being carefully moved from its spot was incredibly emotional — there were tears, relief and a huge sense of pride as this very special piece of our Little Bears Family was saved.

To everyone who shared our posts, supported us, followed the story and sent messages of encouragement — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We’ve now reached an incredible 40k views over the last week and gained so many new followers. The response has been truly overwhelming.

We’ve also had a huge amount of interest from the media, which shows just how much this little cabin has captured people’s hearts. We’ll be in touch with you with you very soon.

For now, we just want to say thank you. Thank you to every single person who cared, shared, helped, encouraged and refused to let this amazing asset disappear. Its not just a cabin, its a memory bank and our happy place.

The cabin is now safe, and with a lick of paint and a new deck will be like new again.

🏡 URGENT APPEAL – LOG CABIN NEEDS A NEW HOME THIS WEEKEND

Despite our very best efforts, and working tirelessly with a number of professionals who have tried to help, we’ve unfortunately been unable to find anyone able to lift and move our existing log cabin to St Saviours Community Centre this summer.

We’ve now been asked to have the cabin moved this weekend, otherwise it will be dismantled and destroyed at the cost of up to £1800 to make way for a replacement building.

We’d really love to see the cabin given a new home so it can be reused and recycled rather than destroyed as it just needs minor repairs and a lick of paint. It is very sentimental to us and needs a lovely new home. It is 20 by 14ft.

If anyone is interested in taking the cabin this weekend, please contact me urgently via text or whatsapp ( no calls please) on my personal number 07781 408681.

We will also be setting up a crowdfunding campaign and fundraising events to help purchase a new cabin for St Saviour’s Community Centre, where everything is already prepared and in place to accommodate a 20 by 14 cabin. The new cabin will be used by the Nursery and community in collaboration with Floral St Saviour.
