Our Business Studies students welcomed Ben and Naomi Tustin from Guernsey Seaweed for a fascinating discussion about entrepreneurship in Guernsey.
They spoke about how the business has developed from seaweed fertiliser into hand sanitiser, skincare and food products.
Students heard how entrepreneurs spot opportunities, solve problems and adapt when circumstances change. They also discussed how, in todayโs digital world, face to face communication and strong long term relationships can play a key role in business success.
A really engaging morning that connected classroom theory to real business. Thank you Guernsey Seaweed!

The Ladies' College hosted a Guernsey round for the RSC Analytical Chemistry Competition for Lower Sixth students. Teams taking part were from Ladies' College and Elizabeth College. The teams had a chemical mystery to solve - someone had murdered the pharmacist so they had hand creams, lipstick and a variety of chemicals to analyse to find out who did it. In this round they were judged on their practical skills. When the results have been marked centrally, one of the groups will win the best in school. They will also get an opportunity to have their results entered in the regional final. ๐งช

We are enormously proud that The Ladies' College has been awarded a rare 'exceeds expectations' following our latest ISI Inspection in March 2026. The report highlights not only our strong academic outcomes, but the calm, supportive environment where our students are known as individuals and develop confidence, self-esteem and a love of learning from the early years through to Sixth Form.
This achievement belongs to our whole school community, the girls, our dedicated staff, families and governors who bring our values of kindness, integrity and bravery to life every day.
