Through our NED Development Programme, Bright Beginnings Children's Centre connected with James Marshall, Co-Founder of Spinning Fox, whose technology background has already opened up new conversations around AI, social media and fundraising.
For Bright Beginnings, the programme brought fresh expertise to the board. For James, it provided a supported route into board-level experience and ultimately led to a permanent board appointment.
Rachel Copeland, Chair of Bright Beginnings, said:
“It was clear that the programme had connected us with someone who brought skills we did not have around the table.”
James added:
“The GTA gave me the space to meet people, explore different organisations and make my own decision.”
Learn more about James's placement with Bright Beginnings via the link in the comments!
The NED Development Programme creates value for boards, participants and the wider community.

People do not do their best work where they feel overlooked, excluded or unheard.
That is why Equality, Diversity and Inclusion matters. Not as a tick-box exercise or a policy in a drawer, but in the everyday culture of a workplace. In how people speak to each other, how decisions are made, who feels able to contribute, and who feels they belong.
For managers, that responsibility is real. The tone you set shapes the experience others have at work.
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace course is designed to help managers lead with greater confidence, care and clarity. It explores legal and organisational responsibilities, but just as importantly, the behaviours and leadership choices that help people feel respected, valued and included.

We know it takes more than great courses to support learning - and sometimes it’s the simple things, like a warm welcome, a cuppa and a well-stocked biscuit tin.
Thanks for your kind words Holly! We're proud of our team and always happy to hear we've helped our delegates by doing that little bit extra ☕️🍪
