✨ We have some very exciting news ✨

We are absolutely delighted to share that Woodlands has been nominated for the Diversity and Inclusion Pride of Guernsey Award.

It means so much to us to have the dedication, passion and hard work that goes into our nursery recognised in this way.

We are incredibly proud of our amazing team and the wonderful community we have created together.

On one of our walks we found a nest 🪹 (empty of birds and eggs) and took it back to our atelier to investigate!

We looked with magnifying glasses at the nest and spoke about the different materials the birds had used; twigs, feathers and moss. This interest expanded with us going on walks to find what birds we could see and hear, learning different bird names, looking at feathers under a microscope and drawing and painting pictures of our local birds! 🐦 🪺

The children loved exploring this interest and gaining lots of new knowledge ☺️🌸

Buds and Seedlings have been having lots of fun today with their senses… We filled the tuft tray with lemons, dried flowers bowls and spoons… The children were scooping, pouring and splashing the water. With the lemons they tasted them, pulled funny faces from the sourness and squeezed them too.. it was a lovely sensory experience that they all enjoyed together 😊

An interest we explored in Blossoms was Aboriginal Dreamtime after one of our children wore a T-shirt with aboriginal art on into nursery.

They loved creating their artwork and their stories to go alongside 🦈 🐨 🎨

We hope you enjoy our storytelling as much as we enjoyed creating it! 💕

Seedlings and Buds went on an adventure to the Castel Douzaine gardens yesterday.

Buds have been showing lots of interest in nature on their walks recently, so they set up a painting activity to print some leaves and make some flower bracelets with the wild flowers on the lawn.

They enjoyed kicking the balls, running around in the open space and looking through some books.

Thank you to all of our Mini Leaves parents who joined us for our Teddy Bears Picnic Stay and Play.

We had a fantastic time exploring the different activities linked to some of our favourite bear books.

We got busy baking, painting, splashing and reading with all of our friends. We even had a picnic snack with our favourite teddy bears! 🧸

Woodlands World Cup ⚽️🥅🌍

This morning we all headed out to castel hall for some World Cup fun!

The children had the opportunity to run around the garden as well as lots of physical activities such as bean bag throwing, throwing into hoops, kicking footballs and penalty taking! Lots of goals were scored and we all had a great time!

We invited children to wear football kits, sports attire or colours that represent their heritage. It was lovely to see a variety of clothing.
