Résumé de la journée du 1e mai 2026, écrit en anglais par Lilas :
We woke up quite early, the night was short but we spent a really good moment talking together !
Nobody ate a lot, we took the bus to the airport at 7am. The bus was our second bed. Now that we are on the plane, we are sharing the -many- snacks we bought yesterday ☀️
The hostess is really nice and interested in our travel in the USA.
Through the window, I can see the blue sea, and it's beautiful. Your eyes easily get lost in the skyline mixed with the clouds. We fly above islands, this is SO cool ! 🦋
We have a quick break at Pointe-à-Pître then we take another plane, which is almost empty. Everybody is sleeping, some are drawing. Mrs Boucherot gives us a paper on which we write down our best memories of the trip ☀️ The flight is long but not uncomfortable, it's 6.55pm when we arrive at Félix Eboué Airport in Cayenne. Even if the memory of the USA seem like a dream we wish to live again, it's good to be back ✨. The weather is good.

Résumé de la journée du jeudi 30 avril 2026, écrit en anglais par Charlotte :
We had to wake up really early today, because the bus was supposed to leave at 7:15 am. After breakfast, we left the H.I New York Hostel and went to J.F. Kennedy Airport Terminal 4. To be honest we were both sad to leave New York (seriously it felt a little bit like grief💀) and exited to go back to Miami where we had a reallyyyy good time !
We left New York City around 9.30 am (a bit later actually, since the flight was late). Our flight was quite nice, even if the plane met several zones of turbulences, and after hours spent above the clouds we arrived to Miami at 3.10 pm. We grabbed our suitcases and left in the same red bus than when we arrived for the first time in Miami. It took us to the "Bed N' Drinks Hostel" in South Beach.
We left our bags there then we went to the restaurant. The boys decided to go back to "Raising Canes" while the girls and the teachers went to Cubaton Sandwich Shop, a Cuban restaurant where we had delicious sandwiches😋🥪. After that, we had some free time for shopping and going to the beach. We were all glad to have a free time (especially some girls, like me, who wanted to go back to Ross). I thought it was a perfect timing because I needed to find some last-minute presents (and I did ! Yay🥳 !!) I just wished we had more time, so I could have had a swim in the sea, but honestly I do not regret spending my time in those shops since they do not exist in French Guiana (and after all, there are beaches in French Guiana too).
After that free time, we all went to a Peruvian restaurant for diner. The teachers told us that it was the restaurant where they brought previous BFI classes for their last diner in the US. We did not order a huge diner since we ate lunch only some hours before, but it was very good. Then we left and we had to organize our stuff, since we were leaving the next day. When we were done some went to bed and the others played a sort debate game, which was actually really funny.
Then we all went to bed for our last night in the US🌃...

Résumé de la journée du mercredi 29 avril 2026, écrit en anglais par Lucas :
First, Théo and I woke up peacefully with our hosts to spend our last morning with the Ahlers family. Then, we all managed to pile into their car, with our suit cases and the dog included 😉. At school, we arrived around 8:30 a.m. and enjoyed our last classes, including Film Class with our buddy Alex Bello (look him up online, you'll understand). We had about an hour of fun with one of their cameras, and it was PHENOMENAL 🤩🤩🤩! We took the time to enjoy our last meal in the super high-quality cafeteria... and then: departure! We took the opportunity to chat with our buddies and hosts, a very good moment, especially for me, with some really nice people I met, like Otto and his family who welcomed us, but also my buddies, Jerry and Sam ! Last photo and we left, goodbye Fieldston, a stay full of memories and good people 👋 We spent some time playing pool in the hostel, then ate at a "Shake Shack". Then came the magnificent, the phenomenonal, the sublime musical HAMILTON ! Around 6 pm, we were able to meet the theater manager, with whom we got to walk on the stage, which was very interesting ! 7 pm and the play started... admittedly, we couldn't film, but it was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, production I've ever seen! Actors, story, songs, everything was there! We had the best time before having to say goodbye to Ms. Cooper-Leary, the teacher who made this exchange possible and who helped us throughout our stay, ensuring our class, the American International Section, had a wonderful time! Our day ended at the hotel with showers and packing our suitcases.

Today, Ray and I woke up around 7am then we went to Fieldston. When we arrived, we had breakfast then we went to the library to talk about the story of Alexander Hamilton, with the teachers, before we all go to see the play on Wednesday. We learnt who he was, what he did for the United States, then we listened to some of the songs of the musical and analyzed them. Afterwards, we had lunch and went home with our host. Then, we went "Thrifting" ! We manages to find some good clothes, I even bought some shoes. We also ate burgers from Smash Burger. When we arrived home, we rested a little bit. Then, we had dinner in a Japanese restaurant, before going to play pool and basketball. Yesterday Sunday,, we went to church in the morning. Our host’s mother had a course with some kids, so we went with her. We even helped a boy by playing red light / green light. We ate some pizza and went to see a baseball game : the "New York Mets" against the "Colorado Rockies". In the afternoon we went to the gym, we had a great session!

Résumé de la journée du mardi 28 avril 2026, écrit en anglais par Cecile :
My day at school started at 8:30 with English class. The students read and analysed a book called "Exit West" by Mohsin Hamid. I really enjoyed this class because the book is very interesting, mixing famtastic and realism and showing how immigrant people live through two young lovers navigating around the world. Then we attended an assembly during the second period. We had the honor of seeing and listening to the astronaut José Hernandez who told us about his amazing life journey. Learning that he started from almost nothing to end up becoming an astronaut and a CEO was a great experience. Then I attended a history class where students made some presentations about different topics on the N**i regime. One of these presentations was called “Sex in the N**i society” and talked about how s*x became a tool of control back then. The other presentation was about how theater, press and radio became a tool of control as well. Then my buddy had an appointment with the college counselor. She wants to work in specialized education. I learned that students in USA have to write an essay for their application to college. Then I attended a French class that was really fun, we played an educational game called “Boberta” which consist of making lists of random words like names, verbs and adjectives and then having to form the story of a female character named Boberta with those words. This was funny to do. Then I had lunch : ravioli with a delicious cream sauce. Finally I attended a relaxing yoga class ( it really transported me into another dimension, I felt like a cloud). Then we came back home with my host’s grandparents who are particularly cute and sweet.
