▶️ Georgia meets Jamaica. And it really happened at One Caucasus. Watch here: https://youtu.be/UtxtTFDB6hM
This was the first One Caucasus project bringing together Georgian traditional dance and Jamaican dance energy.
It started in 2024, when Ola Lemba — Polish psychotherapist, choreographer, trainer and dancer of Congolese origin — met the Georgian dance ensemble Sameba from Tetritskaro during One Caucasus. They worked together and shared the first results of this meeting at the One Caucasus Festival.
Then, as part of OASis – Open Art Spaces in Synergy / One Caucasus Art & Education, Ola returned to Georgia for artistic residencies. First, she worked with children from Shulaveri village. Then she reunited with her friends from Sameba to prepare a new joint performance.
This short video includes moments from Ola’s first meeting with Sameba in Tetritskaro and their performance during the One Caucasus Art & Education Grand Finale on 23 August 2026.
Big thanks to everyone who made this beautiful cultural collision possible. More bridges, more rhythm, more shared space. 🌀🔥
OASis – Open Art Spaces in Synergy is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, connecting 13 dynamic art spaces across 10 countries. The One Caucasus Grand Finale was also co-funded by Marneuli Municipality.
