The preverbs in Georgian are used to convey various directional meanings. Preverbs add directional meanings not only to the verbs of motion but also to any other kind of verbs.
The preverb changes according to the indirect object (the person for/to whom the action is being done).
Hopefully, some of you will find the following table of directional preverbs useful.

>>მი- Go there/ arrive(there)
PRESENT: სამსახურში მივდივარ/ I am going to work
FUTURE: ათ წუთში მივალ/ I will get there in 10 min
>>ა-go up, ascent
PRESENT: ავტობუსში ავდივარ/I am getting on the bus
FUTURE: ზევით ავალ/ I will go upstairs
>>და- visit, frequent, go to and fro
PRESENT:კინოში ხშირად დავდივარ/ I often go the cinema
No Future, Opt or Perfect tenses
>>ჩა-go down/ arrive in (a city or a country)
PRESENT: ავტობუსიდან ჩავდივარ/ I am getting off the bus
FUTURE:ქუთაისში საღამოს ჩავალთ/ We’ll arrive in Kutaisi in the evening
>>შე- go in, enter
PRESENT: ამ მაღაზიაში არასდროს შევდივარ/ I never go into this shop
FUTURE: გაკვეთილზე მალე შევალ/ I will enter/go to the classroom soon
>>გა- go out, leave the building
PRESENT:საღამოობით სახლიდან არ გავდივარ/I never go out(leave the house) in the evening
FUTURE: ქალაქიდან აგვისტოში გავა. /He will leave the city in August.
>>გადა - Go across/ move house
PRESENT: ახალ ბინაში გადავდივარ/ I am moving house.
FUTURE:მიწისქვეშა გადასასველით გადავალ/ I will cross the road through the underpass
