Leadership Project for IDPs and Youth of Conflict Zone Bordering Villages Leadership Project for Internally Displaced Youth and Youth Living in Conflict Zone Bordering Commun

This Project aims at increasing civic activism and initiative among youth living in internally displaced persons (IDP) settlements in Samegrelo and Kvemo Kartli regions and in conflict zone bordering villages, enhancing cooperation between youth civil society and government authorities at local level through the mutual training of youth, and local authority representatives. The project will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills among the most vulnerable youth groups through action aimed at creating positive change in communities so as to encourage youth participation in the decision-making process at local level. Georgian Adult Education Network (GAEN) in partnership with its member organizations: Jvari and Koda Community Education Centers and in close cooperation with Peace Corps volunteers intends to implement a Leadership Project for Internally Displaced (IDP) Youth living in Koda(Tetritskaro Municipality, Kvemo Kartli region) and Jvari (Samegrelo region) and youngsters living in the villages bordering the conflict zone: Ditsi, Mereti, Ergneti (Shida Kartli Region) and Mujava, Pakhulani, Potskho-Etseri (Samegrelo Region). The Project is funded by US Embassy Democracy Commission Small Grant Program.
