Our MASTERS level course "investigative draping" gets extended by adding "Galliano jacket": https://www.ewstfashionlab.com/investigative-draping-course.
Now we have 6 big projects in the course and one supportive unit - the "shawl collar":
1. Dior bar jacket
2. Balenciaga S-seam coat
3. Balenciaga cocoon dress
4. YSL tuxedo jacket
5. Wing-pleat hourglass dress
6. Galliano' jacket with 3-piece kimono sleeve and collar-scarf (NEW!)
Additional unit "shawl collar" is supporting "tuxedo" and "bar jacket" projects as in both cases the tailored collar can be replaced by shawl collar, which was actually happening in other versions of both - Dior jacket and YSL tuxedo designs.

The course is intensive, the learning outcome includes:
Draping tailored jacket.
Draping tailored collar
Draping shawl collar
Draping collar scarf cut as one piece with front panel
Draping one of Balenciaga favorite collar
Applying contouring techniques for draping fitted jacket (bar jacket)
Balenciaga approaches to designing cocoon dress.
Cocoon silhouette and it's development
"Couture darts"
Developing hourglass silhouette
Draping dolman sleeve
Draping 3-piece kimono sleeve
Developing tailored 2-piece sleeve
Besides, for each project Elena advises and demonstrates the way and approaches of design development that provokes student imaginative and explorative spirit.

So, all in all the student with the hep of a tutor receives ample knowledge of masters techniques that bring about impeccable silhouettes and garment construction.
Course duration: 2 years.

Galliano' jacket with collar-scarf and 3-piece kimono sleeve. The work on a jacket happened to be extended and ended up with adding few extra collar designs. This project kept me busy, galvanized, motivated for almost two months.

John Galliano' jacket (FW1989) with collar scarf and 3-piece kimono sleeve. The course is added to Investigative draping series and contains an additional part where Elena suggests to investigate further the collar creation approach and demonstrates how her own vision, imagination and inventiveness brings about a number of fresh designs.
The new course is also added to Sleeves draping series, however partly, the "project development" segment is not included.
The full course consists of 9 video lessons, almost 4 hours of lessons record. Additional supportive materials - a downloadable PDF file is included.
