Dr. Adam J. Finley showcased the European space agency Solar Orbiter VR experience at the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024) held on the Kakha Bendukidze Campus. This innovative virtual reality tool allows participants to virtually board the spacecraft and embark on an interactive journey through the solar system. Attendees can hold the Sun and Earth in their hands, investigate the dynamics of fast and slow solar winds, and experience the awe-inspiring phenomenon of coronal mass ejections as if they were directed towards them.

One of the most captivating features of the Solar Orbiter VR is the ability for users to virtually detach and examine various components of the spacecraft, providing a hands-on understanding of its intricate design. This immersive experience enables students to visually explore the solar system and gain insights into the ongoing space mission, furthering their understanding of the science driving these celestial observations.

As part of the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024), distinguished scientist Stefaan Poedts delivered a lecture titled "Space Weather Predictions: State of the Art and Challenges" on August 6th at the Kakha Bendukidze Campus.

Stefaan Poedts is a Belgian applied mathematician and full professor at the Catholic University of Leuven, where he works in the Plasma-Astrophysics division of the Department of Mathematics. He specializes in studying space weather that has a large socio-economic impact as it affects our technology on which we are increasingly dependent. Stefaan Poedts has been chairman of the European Solar Physics Division and chair of the European Space Agency's Space Weather Working Team (SWWT). Since November 2023 he has been the President of the European Space Weather and Space Climate Association (E-SWAN). Professor Poedts is the Holder of the ERC Advanced Grant “Open SESAME” (2024-2029).

ზურაბ გუგუჩია ქართველი მეცნიერია, რომელიც ამჟამად შვეიცარიაში მოღვაწეობს. კერძოდ, ის ხელმძღვანელობს კვანტური მოვლენების ჯგუფს პაულ შერერის ინსტიტუტში და კითხულობს ლექციებს ციურიხის უნივერსიტეტში. ასევე, ის არის მიწვეული მეცნიერი პრინსტონის უნივერსიტეტში. მისი კვლევის სფერო მოიცავს მაღალ ტემპერატურული ზეგამტარების, მაგნიტურ ნახევარგამტარების და ტოპოლოგიურად რთულ კვანტურ ნივთიერებების ფიზიკას. მისმა კვლევებმა და პუბლიკაციებმა ზეგამტარების, მაგნეტიზმისა და სხვა რამდენიმე თემაზე მოიპოვა მრავალი პრესტიჟული ჯილდო როგორც შვეიცარიაში, ასევე საქართველოში.

During the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024), held on August 5th at the Kakha Bendukidze Campus, Zurab Geguchia delivered a scientific workshop titled 'Time-reversal Symmetry-breaking in Charge-ordered Kagome-lattice Systems Probed with Muon Spin Rotation.'

Zurab Guguchia is a Georgian scientist working in Switzerland. He leads the "Emergent Quantum Phenomena in Layered Materials" group at the Paul Scherrer Institute. He also teaches at the University of Zurich and is a visiting scientist at Princeton University. He employs and further develops several experimental methods at large-scale facilities to construct, identify, and characterize unconventional/topological magnetic, superconducting, and charge-ordered phases of quantum matter in layered materials. His research and publications on superconductors, magnetism, and several other topics have earned him many prestigious prizes in Switzerland and Georgia.

During the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024) held on August 5th at the Kakha Bendukidze Campus, the distinguished Georgian scientist Gia Dvali delivered an insightful lecture entitled 'What is Gravity?' The event highlighted Dvali's profound contributions to the field of theoretical physics.

Gia Dvali is a Georgian theoretical physicist. He is a professor of theoretical physics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, a director at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich, and holds a Silver Professorship Chair at the New York University. His research interests include String theory, Extra dimensions, Quantum gravity, and the Early universe. Dvali is considered to be one of the world's leading experts in the field of particle physics.

ფიზიკის სტუდენტთა საერთაშორისო კონფერენციის (ICPS 2024) მონაწილეებისათვის გახსნის დღე მოიცავდა ქართულ საღამოს, სადაც წარმოდგენილი იყო ქართული ღვინო და საქართველოს კულინარიის აკადემიის მიერ მომზადებული ქართული კერძები.

ასევე, ქართულ საღამოზე კონფერენციის სტუმრები ქართული კულტურის განუყოფელ ნაწილს, პოლიფონიურ მუსიკას, გაეცნენ ფოლკლორული სექსტეტის, “დიდგორის”, მუსიკალური აკომპანიმენტის დამსახურებით.

The International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS 2024) kicked off with a memorable Georgian Evening. Attendees enjoyed an array of exquisite Georgian wines and traditional dishes, masterfully prepared by the Culinary Academy of Georgia.

Adding to the cultural immersion, the folk sextet "Didgori" captivated the audience with the enchanting sounds of Georgian polyphonic music, a cornerstone of the nation& #39;s rich cultural heritage.
