Our Institute once again, for the twelfth time, hosted the student conference "The Contemporaneity of Antiquity," which has been held in an international format for five years now. The event took place in a hybrid format on May 27-29 and was attended by 34 students from all three levels of higher education representing 5 countries: Georgia, Greece, Spain, the USA, and Brazil.
It is important to note that this year's conference saw a record number of participants. This once again points to the great contemporary interest in the Greco-Roman world and the need for its research.
The following sessions operated at the conference: Topical Issues in Classics, Topical Issues in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, and Reception of Antiquity in World Culture. Participants were welcomed with opening speeches by the Deputy Director of our Institute, Associate Professor Irine Darchia; the Head of the Department of Classical Philology, Professor Nana Tonia; and the Head of the Department of Byzantine Studies, Professor Tina Dolidze.
Our institute's student club and its representatives, MA students Giorgi Barnabishvili and Beka Gkelasvili, were once again involved in organizing the event this year.
Selected papers from the conference will be published in our student journal "Mnemosyne." The conference participants have already received their well-deserved certificates.
We would like to congratulate the Georgian and foreign participants and wish them success in their respective scientific and academic fields.
