Sampling the Past at Orozmani! 🇬🇪⛏️
Precision is everything in archaeology. Today we are collecting oriented basalt samples for Palaeomagnetic analysis. 🌍
These rocks hold the magnetic signature of the Earth from the moment they formed, allowing us to pinpoint the exact timeline of our hominid discoveries. 🧭✨

Behind the Science: Pre-Season, Pre-Publication Geological Sampling at Orozmani!" ⚒️🔬
Before the upcoming 2026 Field School, our team is already intensely engaged on site. This week's mission: crucial pre-season geological sampling of the Early Pleistocene strata to finalize data for our pre-publication research on the Orozmani Formation.
Understanding this 1.8 Ma context is vital, and our collaboration with elite scientific institutions makes it possible. A massive thanks to our specialized geologists and dedicated team members, who fought through the mud and rain to secure these samples.
