Ministry of Agriculture & Lands Grenada

Meet the 4Hers πŸ€!
Today we introduce you to the 4Hers at the Victoria School for Special Education and their teachers!πŸ‘¨πŸŒΎ.

The Victoria School for Special Education seeks to increase the level of independence of students with special needs.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands is elated that the students are able to learn about the benefits of eating the foods that we grow and generate an interest in Agriculture and farming.

With the assistance of their teachers students were able to cultivate Watermelon,Tomatoes,Cucumbers and other crops which were used in the school feeding program.

This is Interesting!

Some of the students were able to use skills generated from the school garden and cultivate small plots on their own. They told our PR team that they were able to sell their produce and use the funds raised to fund their education. #youthinagriculture #eatwhatwegrow #ensuringfoodandnutritionsecurityforall

Here are some photos of today's activities. We were joined by some students from NEWLO in St. Johns (thanks for coming to celebrate with us). The day started of with assembly, action songs, and a discussion on what World Autism Day is all about.

Our students then separated into groups to participate in sensory activities both indoors and outdoors. The final activity is what spiked the most excitement out of everyone, especially our students....water play!!!

We would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU to Child Friendly Schools Initiative (CFS) for providing us with the funds to purchase the swimming pool and to CHORES for the sensory materials.

It was a FANTASTIC DAY!!!
