The National Training Agency is forging stronger ties with the local media to reshape public perception of vocational training. On Monday, June 15th, NTAβs Marketing and Communications Officer, Kay Julien-Gutu, addressed local media practitioners as part of Media Week activities. The presentation focused on strategic partnership, urging the media to spotlight TVET success stories and highlight the critical role of skills training in national development. The NTA"s Marketing Officer also introduced the media professionals to pathways by which they themselves can become trained and certified in their respective crafts (such as videography, journalism, and digital media production) through the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) frameworks. The session was received with great enthusiasm by the attending media practitioners, who expressed interest in further engagement. By encouraging the storytellers to advance their own careers, the NTA is ensuring that the message of lifelong learning resonates from the inside out. The NTA is hoping that when the media understands the value of certification firsthand, that they will become the strongest advocates for vocational training in the country.
