Got us a 2nd 50lb dumbbell. Been coaching just fine with 1 50lb dumbbell and 1 50lb kettlebell for a while - doing unilateral exercise and mixed-tool workouts. But as more clients now benefit from the 50s (both men and women!!), I figured it's time.

Feels great to get occasional equipment upgrades to celebrate our continuous fitness progress!

All Style Fitness has expanded!

Last week we slightly relocated and significantly improved my personal training fitness studio. The indoor area is much bigger able to easily host 1on1 clients and small private groups. There is also a full changing room, a better waiting area, and room for outdoor workouts and group exercise classes.

Same excellent Grand Anse location. Right next to Le Marquis, Spiceland Mall and the beach. Directly on SGU and public bus routes. Big thanks to all my clients and to Premier Views Apartments, for the support and making the expansion possible.

Here are a couple nice moves I've done this month. These were taken from several different workouts so give any of them a try.

Alternatively you can do all 4 of them as part of a self-contained workout. I picked out these ones in particular because they combine well together, covering the 4 basic movement patterns of squat, push, hinge, & pull respectively.

The 30 REAL reasons-to / benefits-of exercise!

What’s the motivation, reason, or result that comes to mind when you think about exercise?

If it’s something to do with looks or performance then you are likely not aware of many far more important lifelong benefits that you are or could / should be getting by following a consistent, properly-balanced exercise program that’s right for you.

Push workout

Small self-contained push unit that can be done on its own or part of a larger workout on a push or fullbody split.

The KB thrust halos were part of my warmup circuit to engage the hips, core, and shoulders for the work ahead. The main lifts – squats and floor presses – were done in a staggered superset fashion.

Without a rack, front squats will be limited by how much weight you can Clean up onto your shoulders. But so long as you can get up a decent amount you can just do slightly higher reps to compensate.

For the floor presses I was able to go all out in the 10ish hypertrophy range. Without a spotter, do a powerful glute bridge to get the bar over your chest and vice versa. These are safer than standard bench presses in terms of shoulder health and because if you fail a rep you won’t get crushed under the bar.
