We just wanted to share with you our school National Schools Equestrian Association success over the past few weekends! Lily and her pony took part in the NSEA at Northallerton, qualifying in both of her classes for Hickstead in August 2027.

Several weekends ago Scarlett went to Epworth and took part in the show jumping and dressage and qualified for the Championship at Addington which is on 15th October.

Both girls were in huge classes and have spent the summer training hard in order to take part in the NSEA. Well done to both and we are looking forward to hearing how they get on!

🎄 Celebrating the exciting new partnership between Terrington Hall and Sedbergh School 🎄

Members of our community are warmly invited to join us for a very special Christmas Dinner on Thursday 3rd December 2026, as we come together to celebrate the festive season and this exciting new chapter for our wider School community.

Join parents, staff and alumni of Terrington Hall Prep School and Sedbergh School for an evening of good food, great company and plenty of Christmas spirit.
The evening will begin at 6.30pm with a drinks reception in the Undercroft, before we make our way into the Great Hall for dinner. The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, one of the world’s finest medieval guildhalls, provides a truly magnificent and atmospheric setting for an evening of celebration.

Our Year 2 children enjoyed a fantastically sunny day this week at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Linked to their work in Science, they enjoyed a workshop on habitats where they got to stroke and hold both a python and a huge land snail! Out in the park they walked thousands of steps seeing an amazing variety of animals. They saw polar bears, giraffes and rhinos, to the smaller zebras and lemurs and were fuelled by an excellent packed lunch from Alex and the team back at school. An amazing way to bring the lessons learnt in the classroom to life!

Our first Pastoral Lunch of the year was last week. Some of Year 3 enjoyed lunch with Miss I'Anson in our newly renovated boarders common room, overlooking the garden. There was lots of excited chatter about their first year 3 boarding evening and their favourite lessons so far, since moving into Lower Prep. A fantastic way to check in and catch up.

Who knew a study skills session could be so much fun? Year 7 honed their memory expertise by becoming 'spies' and cracking codes. Mr Pickering brought his skeleton and revealed funny mnemonics to help remember the various bones. Remembering tricky and new information is now a piece of cake!

Will and Arthur have been working on a pitch to add a fish pond to our facilities at school. They delivered their very persuasive argument to Headmaster Huw Thomas and Bursar Richard Smeeton, who were so impressed they've given the go-ahead for a feasibility study.
