Throughout this final term our Form Tutor Collective Worship explores different themes inspired by the notion of Pilgirmage, with material from the Church of England. This week considers how important a first aid kit would be to help you with any difficulties you encounter on your journey. Our daily quotes are all bible passages on the theme of Help on the Journey.
Quotes
• Monday – Jesus said, “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” – The Bible, The Gospel of John 14: 27
• Tuesday – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – The Bible, Psalm 46:1
• Wednesday – Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” – The Bible, The Gospel of Matthew 19: 26
• Thursday – “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go.” – The Bible, Proverbs 3: 5-6
• Friday – Jesus said, “My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” – The Bible, The Gospel of John 10: 10

The Year 12 Allotment Enrichment group for 2025/2026 have been able to carry on the hard work from last year's group. This year they are growing potatoes, garlic, raspberries, strawberries, gooseberries, rhubarb, peas, beans, tomatoes, pumpkins and lettuce. They have also planted out shrubs and continued the work on the wild flower bed. This area has gone from an patch a land full of brambles and nettles to fully functioning allotment.
They have worked so hard in all weathers and this week were able to harvest their first set of onions! We are so proud of what they have achieved.

We have an opportunity for a Learning Mentor to start in September.
At Archbishop Holgate’s School, we are committed to ensuring that every student – regardless of background or circumstance – can thrive within a culture of high expectations, care, and achievement.
We are looking for a colleague to support and engage students in an Alternative Provision setting by delivering mentoring and vocational based learning. The role aims to improve behaviour, attendance and engagement by providing practical, vocational experiences alongside pastoral support, helping students progress into education, training or employment.
We believe that Archbishop Holgate’s is ‘no ordinary school’ and is an excellent place to work, a view confirmed by excellent Ofsted and SIAMS inspections over the past two decades.
Our staff are friendly and supportive and our students are polite, hardworking and keen to succeed. As such, this post represents an exciting opportunity to join a very successful, high-achieving, forward looking and fully-subscribed Church of England comprehensive school.
Successful candidates will be fully supported to develop in the role, benefiting from bespoke CPD opportunities both at Archbishop’s and as part of the Pathfinder Teaching School Hub. In addition, colleagues will benefit from being part of the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust Career Pathway Programme, and through working with colleagues across other Trust schools, develop skills and share innovative teaching and learning practices.

What a fantastic afternoon our Year 10 Travel and Tourism pupils spent yesterday hosting a D-Day Commemoration event at Mossdale Residential Home.
Residents enjoyed a range of activities, including storytelling, bingo, pass the parcel, mural making, and cake and cookie decorating.
Year 10 pupils organised and delivered the event as part of their Events Management programme, which they are completing following the submission of their assessed coursework.
The pupils did an outstanding job, and the residents were delighted, thoroughly enjoying the afternoon and all the activities on offer.
