Movement meets creativity! 🎨

At Hutton-Le-Hole, we've been exploring the joy of mark making with a twist! By drawing on a vertically hanging poster, the children have been stretching, reaching and making their own creative marks while developing their shoulder muscles and upper-body strength.

These playful, hands-on experiences help build the physical skills needed for everyday activities, including writing, while encouraging creativity, confidence and self-expression.

Every reach, line and scribble is a little step in their learning journey! 💛

Our Inquisitive Investigators are getting to grips with tooth hygiene! 🪥

We’ve been exploring the importance of looking after our teeth through hands-on learning, practising our tooth-brushing skills and discovering how to keep our smiles healthy. 😁

The children have also been busy sorting foods into healthy and less healthy piles, sparking conversations about the foods that help keep our teeth strong.

Tooth brushing is now becoming part of our daily rhythm, and it’s quickly turning into an exciting part of the day! Through play, exploration and everyday routines, we’re helping our children build healthy habits and develop a better understanding of oral hygiene from an early age. 🦷✨

Becoming Maths Masters! 🌸📏🔢

Our mathematicians at Helmsley have been putting their measuring skills to the test! After spotting some of the tallest flowers around town, we brought our curiosity back to nursery to investigate just how tall they really were.

Armed with tape measures, we measured and compared the heights we had discovered – exploring numbers, measurement, comparison and problem-solving through hands-on, real-world learning. 🌱✨

Who knew maths could be so much fun? 💚

Our Hutton-Le-Hole children have been busy making delicious cheese scones! Along the way, they used their evolving maths skills to measure out the ingredients and strengthened their fine motor skills while pouring, mixing and combining everything together. 🥣✨

A hands-on learning experience filled with curiosity, teamwork and, of course, a tasty reward at the end! 💛

15/09/2026

Our newest addition to Little Years is fully open and welcoming new families. ✨

Based on York Biotech Campus, our purpose-built setting has beautifully designed interconnected playrooms and plenty of corners for play-based learning, indoor and outdoor!

We’re so excited to see this special nursery come to life. Come and see what makes Little Years special, we’d love to meet you! 💛
