A brand new block of Robot Reg is here! Our final block of the academic year.

Get ready for action packed classes full of songs, games, movement, laughter and lots of early literacy learning.

Whether your child is just starting their phonics journey or getting ready for school, our classes are designed to build confidence, whilst having lots of fun.

Minis classes focus on encouraging early speech and language development, through play-based activities.

Preschool classes focus on listening for sounds and oral blending skills in preparation for school.

🎓🖍️✏️ Starting School Workshops 📒✂️🎓

In July, I will be running some special workshops, exclusively for children starting school in September.

This is a series of three consecutive sessions, which:

📚 introduce the first set of sounds from Reception class in a fun, engaging way

✏️ demonstrate how to blend and segment the sounds through games and activities that can be followed up at home

🖍️ develops gross motor and fine motor skills, with appropriate activities to practise these skills

✂️ offer advice and information to parents about Reception level phonics and what to expect in the first year at school and lots of ideas for games to support with at home

📒 a take home pack of resources to use at the workshop, which can then be used over the summer and into term 1

🎓 a little graduation certificate and celebration of achievement upon completion

The workshops will be held at Clifton Moor Church and community centre, YO304WD

Oral blending is one of the first steps towards reading.

We focus on this in classes A LOT!🤖

I always advocate that this is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT phonics skills that children can learn before school.

It’s simply hearing sounds and putting them together…

like c-a-t → cat 🐈

No letters.

No pressure.

Just listening 👂🏼and speaking 👄

And when children feel confident doing this, reading becomes so much easier later on🥰
