There are enough things to overthink as a parent. Coming to a baby class shouldn’t be one of them.

You don’t need a little one who’ll sit perfectly in front of you for 45 minutes. You don’t need to be musical. You don’t need to know anyone. And you definitely don’t need to arrive looking like you’ve got parenting remotely under control.

Baby Band is relaxed, welcoming and designed for actual babies and toddlers doing actual baby and toddler things.

Come as you are. Make some noise. Hear some genuinely good tunes. See what you both think.

And if you’re new, you don’t have to commit to a whole block to give us a try. PAYG spaces are available alongside block bookings, so you can book in a way that works for you.

Possibly controversial parenting opinion incoming…

I don’t really subscribe to the idea that once you have a baby, they should just “fit into your life”.

Because, quite frankly, sometimes what I want to do and what will entertain a two-year-old for 45 minutes are VERY different things.

I think there’s huge value in finding activities that are genuinely designed for our little ones. Things that enrich them, entertain them, let them explore, learn, make noise and just be small people.

BUT…

I also don’t think that means every child-centred activity has to feel like it’s *only* for the child.

And that’s exactly why bringing Baby Band South York to The Golden Ball just works.

The babies and toddlers get 45 minutes of live music, real instruments, singing, dancing, movement and approximately 700 opportunities to shake something very loudly.

The grown-ups get brilliant music, other adults to chat to and the general novelty of being in a lovely community pub while attending a baby class.

Everyone gets something out of it.

Because becoming a parent changes your life. Of course it does.

But I strongly believe there should be spaces where your little one can have an absolute blast AND you can genuinely enjoy being there too.

No enduring it for their sake.

No counting down the minutes until it’s over.

Just something that feels good for both of you.

And if that happens to take place in one of York’s best community pubs?

Well, I’m certainly not going to argue with that.

This term is already looking VERY full behind the scenes with nursery sessions and birthday parties, which I absolutely love. If you’d like Baby Band to come to your nursery, childminder setting or little one’s birthday party, drop me a message for my remaining availability.
And for everyone else, come and spend 45 minutes making some noise with us. Excellent music, real instruments and absolutely no requirement for your child to sit still.

Autumn 1 is ready for you 🍂🎶

No long sales pitch because I know you’re probably reading this while simultaneously parenting, making a snack and wondering where your coffee went.

Baby Band is back this September in **Fulford and Clifton**, plus our monthly **Pay What You Feel sessions at The Golden Ball**.

I’ve also taken on some more lovely nursery sessions this term, so I’m still on the hunt for the perfect third weekly venue. Keep your eyes peeled 👀

THE GOLDEN BALL CLASSES ARE BACK 🎶

After the absolute joy of our summer pop-up, I’m so excited to say Baby Band is heading back to The Golden Ball.

These are a little bit different from our usual weekly classes. Once a month we’ll be taking over the Garden Room for 45 minutes of Baby Band fun, real instruments, brilliant music and plenty of opportunity for your little ones to make some noise.

And just like our summer session, these classes are **PAY WHAT YOU FEEL**.

Come along, grab a drink, settle in and enjoy a Sunday afternoon Baby Band session in one of York’s loveliest community pubs.

Our summer class filled up very quickly, so booking is essential even though there’s no upfront ticket cost.
