Clear boundaries are important but children don't all respond to situations in the same way. Communication needs, emotional regulation, sensory needs and previous experiences can all influence behaviour.

So the question is:

When a passenger is angry, frustrated or distressed, how we communicate can have a significant impact on what happens next.

Tone, body language, listening and knowing when to give someone space can all influence how a situation develops.

But there isn't always a simple answer, especially when you're working in a busy environment with other passengers and safety considerations to manage.

✈️ When does passenger behaviour become a safety concern?

Most difficult passenger situations don't start as a major incident.

It could be frustration at the gate, an argument with cabin crew or behaviour that gradually becomes more disruptive.

The challenge is recognising when behaviour is moving from difficult to potentially unsafe and knowing how to respond before the situation escalates.
