🍂 Sensory and Autumn fun with the Early Explorers 🌿

The Early Explorers have been enjoying all things sensory and the wonderful sights and experiences that Autumn has to offer so far.

The children have loved getting involved in a variety of activities including exploring the changing leaves, baking yummy Hedgehog bread 🦔, collecting conkers and nature treasures, making Autumn crafts and getting creative with Autumn colours and textures 🎨.

They have also enjoyed lots of sensory play with different materials, talking about the changes we can see in the environment and the signs of Autumn through play and exploration.

It has been lovley to see the children so curious and excited as they discover the world around them developing their language, creativity and fine motor skills.

A big thank you to our wonderful little explorers for making the first week of Autumn so much fun we cant wait to see what else Autumn brings 🍁

Hands-on exploration is where little hands meet big discoveries. 🌍🔍📚🎨

We have had a wonderfully busy few weeks in our toddler room, diving headfirst into hands-on exploration and creative fun. Our little adventurers have been using all of their senses with our themed exploration trays, learning all about bugs, 🪲nature,🌿 animals,🐍🦕 and the magic of the forest.🦉🦊 It has been amazing to watch their curiosity grow as they investigate each new discovery and connect with the world around them.🌍

Alongside our sensory play, we have been making the most of the season by exploring vibrant autumn colours and sharing new and old stories together. 📖These themes completely came to life through our art projects, where the children unleashed their inner artists. 👨‍🎨🎨They have absolutely loved getting stuck into open-ended creative opportunities, from painting a real tree branch and drawing their very own unique buildings🏢🏘🏛 to painting beautiful pictures of pumpkins🎃.Our classroom has been filled with so much focus, curiosity, and joy during these wonderful activities. 🖐🌈No hand is too small to plant a better tomorrow 🌏🌲🌊

This week, our Daring Discoverers have been working incredibly hard to protect our environment! Together, they have been learning all about the importance of recycling, saving our trees, and how we can look after our beautiful planet. 🌱♻️

The children absolutely loved getting hands-on by baking and decorating their very own delicious biscuit trees, and they even had a go at sorting materials to practice recycling first-hand. 🍪🌳

We talked about the big impact of plastic pollution and how we can work together to save our oceans and protect our sea friends, before finally expressing our love for the world by exploring the Earth through colourful paint and wonderful messy play activities. 🐠🌊 We are so incredibly proud of our little eco-warriors and their big hearts for the planet! 💚

Little fingers, big discoveries 🌏🖐🔍✍️

Over the past few weeks, preschool have been buzzing with hands-on learning as the children have explored a variety of fine motor activities. We have been hard at work squeezing playdough🤏, finger drawing in salt👆, scooping and pouring water ✏️, chalking on the floor, and drawing small pictures! We’ve even integrated these skills into snack time by practicing buttering toast 🍞and pouring our milk🥛, and into art through stand-up painting where children reach high up to the paper.🎨

While these activities look like pure fun, they are actually crucial for a child's development. Every scoop, squeeze,✊️and pinch builds the small muscle strength, hand flexibility, and hand-eye coordination needed for everyday independence—like buttoning coats and feeding themselves—while larger movements like stand-up painting 🎨 strengthen the shoulder stability required for future writing endurance.👏🖐🤏👆✍️

🎵Wash, wash, wash your hands, soap will make them clean! 🎶

This week in Early Explorers, we have been learning all about Hygiene!

We have looked at how and why we brush our teeth, we learned how to wash germs off of our hands and farm animals, and we learned about feeling different emotions depending on our hygiene!

We have had lots of fun cleaning teeth with our toothbrushes, big and small!

We washed farm animals in our outdoor water play. 🐄

We have enjoyed some wonderful sensory play cleaning foam and sprinkles off of building block teeth, and we have enjoyed our sensory colour monster bags!

Now we know the importance of brushing our teeth, washing our hands and those things helping us feel happy and healthy! 🧼🪥

Every journey begins with a little imagination 🚂🚘🚌

What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in our Active Adventurers Toddler Room, as we have been exploring the wonderful world of TRANSPORT!🚦🚌✈️🚜🚤

Our little Adventurers have been getting creative and exploring transport in so many different ways. We created our very own road markings using paint and enjoyed lots of mark making inspired by transport, including roads, traffic lights, cars and vehicle track marks. 🎨🛣️
We also had lots of fun painting a tyre, exploring the different marks and patterns it could make! 🛞🎨
Our imaginations really got moving as we explored all different types of transport — from planes and cars to diggers and boats. ✈️🚗🚜🚤 The children even used our construction resources to design and build their very own garages, working together and using their creativity to bring their ideas to life. 🏗️🧱
We incorporated numbers into our transport play by creating numbered roads, measuring how far our vehicles could travel and exploring the differences between long and short roads. The children loved predicting, testing and comparing their vehicles as they travelled along their creations! 📏🚙

It has been a fantastic week full of creativity, imagination, mark making, problem-solving, physical development and early maths— all through play and a topic the children have thoroughly enjoyed! ❤️

🌈 “Every child is a little explorer, discovering a world of wonder one moment at a time.” 🌈

What a wonderful week our Daring Discoverers have had! This week, we have been exploring the much-loved story Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? 🐻🌈
The children have enjoyed developing their colour recognition through lots of exciting play-based experiences, discovering colours in different ways and incorporating them into their imaginative play. 🎨
We have also enjoyed plenty of sensory exploration, including getting creative with playdough, enjoying some baking and using our senses to investigate different textures and materials. 👐✨
Our little explorers also got creative making woodland-themed sticky-back windows, bringing our environment to life with lots of beautiful colours and woodland animals. 🦊🍂🌳
And of course, we couldn't forget our very own Brown Bear masks! 🐻 The children had lots of fun creating their masks before joining in with the story and listening carefully to all the familiar words and sounds.
It has been a fantastic week full of colour, creativity, sensory experiences, imagination and lots of storytelling! 💕📚

🏴‍☠️✨ “Every adventure begins with a little imagination…” ✨🏴‍☠️

Ahoy, me hearties! What an exciting week our Imaginative Investigators have had! 🏴‍☠️⚓️ This week, we have been diving into the wonderful world of pirates, where the children’s imaginations have truly set sail! They have been busy creating their very own pirate boat and pirate cave, which have provided endless opportunities for exciting role play, storytelling and adventures. 🚢🏝️

Our little pirates have enjoyed exploring lots of pirate and sea-themed trays, creating their own treasure maps and discovering mysterious hidden messages in bottles, working hard to unlock their secrets! 🍾🗺️ They have also been getting creative by making their very own golden nuggets to add to the homemade treasure chest inside their homemade cave. 💰✨ And, of course, no pirate adventure would be complete without a pirate hat, so the children had lots of fun designing and making their very own! 🏴‍☠️🎩

It has been wonderful to watch our Imaginative Investigators become completely immersed in their pirate world, using their creativity, curiosity, problem-solving skills and teamwork as they followed their imaginations and created their own adventures. 💙
What a fantastic week of discovery, creativity, exploration and pirate fun! ⚓️🏴‍☠️ X marks the spot… I wonder where our imaginations will take us next? 🗺️✨

✨Everyday is a new adventure when you're little!💛

What a wonderful week it's been in our Baby Room! 🌈☀️

Our little explorers have been busy enjoying lots of sensory and messy play, discovering new textures, colours, and experiences through hands-on fun. 🎨🫧
Story time has taken us on some amazing adventures as we've shared favourites includingThe Gruffalo,The Snail and the Whale,The Very Hungry Caterpillar,Whatever Next!, andThe Colour Monster. 📚🐛🐌🌙
We've also been making the most of the summer with lots of bright, colourful activities inspired by the sunny season. 🌻🌈
To top it all off, our babies have been busy baking some delicious treats, exploring new smells, tastes, and textures while having lots of fun together! 🧁👩‍🍳
We've had a fantastic week full of smiles, laughter, learning, and discovery, and we can't wait to see what next week brings!

🌞 "The best classroom is filled with curiosity, imagination, and a little bit of adventure." 🌞

This week, our Active Adventurers have been exploring the exciting themes of Summer, Holidays, and Insects, and what an incredible week it has been! Our Book of the Week, What the Ladybird Heard on Holiday, inspired so much of our learning, encouraging the children to discover insects and bugs in our mud kitchen as they searched for creepy crawlies and created their own bug-themed adventures through imaginative, sensory play🐞.

Our holiday adventures continued as the children immersed themselves in a variety of exciting activities. They loved creating their own postcards, drawing their passport photos, packing suitcases, and role-playing in our travel agents before taking off from our small world airport on lots of imaginative aeroplane adventures. We also explored different types of holiday transport, talked about where we like to go on holiday, what we need to pack, and the delicious foods we enjoy while we're away. It was wonderful to hear the children sharing their own holiday experiences with their friends.🌏☀️⛺️

To finish off our summer fun, we cooled down with some delicious ice cream-themed activities, where the children enjoyed scooping, serving, and making their very own ice creams and ice lollies through hands-on, real-life experiences.🍦🏖

It has been a week filled with curiosity, creativity, imagination, and meaningful learning through play. Watching the children's confidence grow as they explored, discovered, and shared their ideas has been wonderful, and they have absolutely loved every moment of our summer adventures.🛩

We can't wait to see what adventures next week will bring! 💛✨
