What makes a great middle leader?
It isn't about having all the answers or being the loudest voice in the room.
Great middle leaders know how to communicate clearly, build positive relationships and support their teams through change. They have the confidence to tackle difficult conversations, make informed decisions and bring people with them.
These skills don't come naturally to everyone, they're developed through experience, reflection and learning.
That's exactly what our Successful Middle Leadership programme is designed to help with. Through practical activities, discussion and shared experiences, delegates develop the confidence and skills they need to lead effectively in their own organisations.
If you're looking to invest in your leadership this September, we'd love to welcome you to one of our upcoming programmes.
Remote course starts 10 September
In-person course starts 17 September

With the Wimbledon Finals behind us, the world was watching two players who have spent their careers mastering not just a sport, but the art of performing under pressure. What separates the great from the very good at Wimbledon isn't always technique, it's mentality, adaptability, and the confidence that comes from excellent coaching.
Does this sound familiar? It should, because the same qualities that define a Wimbledon champion define an exceptional leader.
Composure When It Counts
The greatest players in tennis have an almost supernatural ability to reset after a bad point, stay composed in a tiebreak, and make good decisions when the stakes are highest. In the workplace, effective leaders do the same; they manage their own reactions, stay focused on outcomes, and model calm under pressure for their teams.
Strategy Beats Reaction
Every Wimbledon champion plays with a game plan. They know their opponent's weaknesses, understand court conditions, and adapt their tactics as the match evolves. Strong managers and leaders do the same; they align their teams around clear goals, understand the wider organisational landscape, and make informed decisions rather than reactive ones.
The Role of Coaching
Behind every champion is a great coaching team. Behind every high-performing organisation is investment in leadership development. The two are not coincidental. Organisations that develop their leaders consistently outperform those that don't.
At QE Training Academy, our leadership and management programmes, are designed to give your managers the tools, confidence, and frameworks they need to lead effectively. Whether someone is stepping into their first management role or looking to sharpen their strategic thinking, we have a programme to support them.
This Is Your Season
Wimbledon reminds us every year that greatness is earned through dedication, coaching, and consistent practice. The same is true of great leadership. Invest in your managers now, and watch your whole organisation perform better.

A fantastic weekend of training with EF.
We were delighted to deliver First Aid training to 43 members of summer school staff, helping to equip their team with the knowledge and confidence to respond in an emergency.
A huge thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm, engagement, and commitment throughout the course. It's always rewarding to see organisations investing in the safety and wellbeing of their staff and those they support.
Well done to everyone who took part, we hope you never need to use your new skills, but if you do, you'll be ready.
