Well done to team who competed at the Physics Olympics this week. They didn't win the competition, but they did win a huge jar of jelly beans!

⚠️ Road Closure Notice ⚠️

It's come to our attention that the A1237 will be closed between Shipton Road and the Great North Way roundabout from 8:00pm on Tuesday 2nd June until 6:00am on Thursday 4th June for maintenance works.

This may cause disruption to journeys to and from school, particularly for families travelling from the Rawcliffe side of York. Please allow extra time for your journey and plan accordingly.

Thank you for your support, and please take care when travelling!

We’ve had our last stop on the Western Front. We squeezed in a visit to one of the only functioning WW1 tanks in the world, got to get our hands on WW1 objects that were dug up around Pond Farm, went in a German command post bunker and visited a Yorkshire born nurse who served and died at the front. We’ve had another brilliant day and the students continue to be a joy. Next stop, Calais!

Yesterday our battlefields trip visited the Somme, visiting mine craters, looking back at the British lines from German WW1 binoculars, following the British attack over the top and visiting the graves of some ancestors of our students and staff. The students continue to grow together, serve others and certainly live life to the full - they have been amazing.

Another magnificent day on the (very hot) Western Front. We’ve done gr***de throwing competitions, bayonet fencing, dressed up in lots of WW1 kit, visited some well-known sites, taken photographs with a 1916 camera, tried on gas masks and smelled what the different gases smelt like. The students continue to be absolutely brilliant and are making their teachers feel very proud.

We've had a lovely time this afternoon celebrating with year 11. Thank you to Mrs Jones and Mr Stimson for an excellent and emotional assembly. Have a great half term everyone!

We have had an incredible first day on the Western Front living life to the full. We’ve been in bunkers, done some stretcher bearing, heard incredible stories, walked round huge mine craters and held a 1914 Christmas truce whilst wearing genuine historic WW1 uniform. The students have behaved impeccably throughout.
