We can vouch for the fact that there are some beautiful, weird and wonderful varieties in amongst the (10,000!) plants in their stunning rock garden. A bittersweet Chelsea Press Day this year. This time last year, we were happily chatting to Nigel Dunnett at his Hospitalfield Arts garden. We had no idea he was so poorly at the time 💔

What an absolute treat to meet up with the uber talented Ed Payne of The Landscape Agency (and champion of D-Tail Plants) for a behind the scenes viewing of the Hospitalfield Arts Garden at Chelsea Flower Show in collaboration with Nigel Dunnett. Yesterday, Perennial hosted the first focus group for women working in horticulture, at our beautiful York Gate Garden.

The session prompted a number of excellent and open conversations around the challenges and pressures faced by women in the sector, many of which are often intensified by career breaks and changes in health.

It was especially powerful to bring women together face to face from across the industry, representing a wide range of ages, roles and career paths, and to create a supportive space for shared experiences and insight.

We will be running a further two focus groups in the South of England and Scotland. Once we have collated the significant and valuable input from all sessions, we will move forward with developing tailored advice and information to support individuals, whether self‑employed or employed, as well as employers across the horticultural industry.
