In 2021, street artists Static, commissioned by Malton Town Council and Art of Protest, transformed the derelict former bus shelter on Highfield Road, Malton into a vibrant public art piece. The shelter has gone down a storm with the young people of the area, especially the two nearby schools. Transpennine Express recently gifted us two former platform seats. Thank you Transpennine Express. Our Town Ranger has restored them, and painted one in matching colours to the shelter and installed it. The public can now sit in the shelter and enjoy it from the inside looking out.
