💕 Today we said goodbye to our Saturday teaching assistant Rebecca as she prepares to go to university. Rebecca has danced at NDA since 2018, she has successfully worked her way through the ISTD Ballet syllabus achieving a Distinction in her Grade 6 Ballet exam earlier on in the year! She has also attended Contemporary classes & performed in so many of our performances! Rebecca joined the NDA teaching team in 2021 and has been an incredible support to myself, & our students at the Academy. Thank you so much Rebecca, we all very much appreciate all your hard work, you have been amazing to work with & will be very much missed. We only managed to get a few photos today in classes (the start of term has been incredibly busy!) Wishing you all the very best Rebecca in the next chapter of your life… & please come to visit us when you’re back in York 💕

⭐️ A massive congratulations to NDA student Soraya who has successfully auditioned for the Phoenix Youth Theatre programme based in York & Leeds. Not only did Soraya successfully audition for the programme, she has also been awarded the Leverhulme Half Bursary Award. This has been awarded to Soraya for her natural talent & her potential to pursue a successful career in dance. We are all extremely proud of you Soraya, you have done amazing. Over the 7 years that you have been training at NDA, you have blossomed into a beautiful dancer, & know you’ll continue to flourish training with Phoenix Dance Theatre too! ⭐️

Well 2025/26… what an academic year we have had! It’s been our busiest year yet and feel so incredibly grateful to have been able to work with the amazing students & teachers we have at NDA over the last academic year. I have tried to summarise the highlights in just over a minute (which has been extremely difficult!!), looking back we’ve managed to do a lot in 10 months! Although we are on summer break at the moment, I am already planning the events of 2026/27. I hope you all have a wonderful summer break, & very much looking forward to the next academic year… starting with exams in October & then our Christmas performance on Saturday 5th December!!
