Core school memories were made in Year 5 during their summer camp-out! ⛺
After a day of rain, the clouds cleared just in time for a beautiful evening on the school grounds. Students enjoyed games, laughter, and s’mores around the campfire, creating moments they'll cherish for years to come.

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils have had an incredible time on their recent residential visit to Ford Castle PGL this term.

From tackling high ropes activities including the Vertical Challenge, zip wires and the thrilling Leap of Faith, to enjoying orienteering and Archery Tag, they have embraced every challenge with determination and a typical Cundall ‘can-do’ attitude. We are so proud of the confidence, resilience and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the week.

Year 1 were delighted to welcome their parents into school for a special Continental Breakfast to celebrate the start of the Summer Term.

The children proudly took on the role of hosts, confidently taking orders, serving hot teas and coffees, and ensuring their guests felt welcomed throughout the morning. To round off the morning, they performed a lovely song. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for this memorable start to the second half of the Summer Term! 🌟

This time last week, our Summer Concert was a wonderful celebration of music-making across the school. Highlighting the incredible talent we have throughout Cundall, every performance was underpinned by an absolute joy in performing.

From Musical Theatre and choirs to bands and ensembles spanning Years 3–11 (Thornton), it was great to see so many pupils taking part.

The concert also marked a significant moment for Cundall music — the final school concert performance by Thornton rock band, Bangers & Thrash. Closing the show in style, the band have just one morr final performance at the Leavers’ Ball. Seven years in the making, founding members Ollie, James and Josh, alongside Amos, have become fantastic musicians and acted as wonderful role models to thir fellow pupils.👏✨

Enormous credit must go to Mrs Reece, Caitlin Anderson and the wider Music team for nurturing and inspiring such talent across the whole school.

Our Prep pupils have been busy completing fantastic Art projects at the end of term. 🎨
Year 5 created Grayson Perry inspired ceramic pots using the coiling technique, decorating them with Sharpie designs based on their personalities, passions and interests. Year 3 finished their delightful mixed media dachshunds — full of character and individuality. Year 6 have been exploring interior paintings inspired by Henri Matisse, using bold colours and decorative patterns in their work.

What a way to finish the first half of the summer term ☀️🏏

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday evening for our annual Headmaster’s XI vs Alumni XI cricket match — whether you played, spectated, supported from the boundary edge or simply enjoyed the sunshine and Cundall spirit. Set against the stunning backdrop, the match delivered drama right to the final over, with the Alumni XI narrowly taking victory by just one run (161–160!) 👏

One of the standout performances of the evening came from Freddie (Year 7), who impressed everyone with a fearless bowling spell. He claimed several wickets, took a superb catch off his own bowling and was deservedly named Player of the Match.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make it such a memorable occasion — we’re already looking forward to next year! 💙
