A huge 👍 to the fantastic Summer Term we've enjoyed so far!
Our pupils have continued to demonstrate outstanding community spirit, determination, teamwork and individuality, embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm and commitment.
Here's a glimpse of some of our senior swimmers putting that dedication and camaraderie into action during a training session. After a year of outstanding achievements, including recent success at the World School Swimming Championships, they have certainly continued to make waves both in and out of the pool.
We couldn't be prouder of all they have achieved this year. Keep up the fantastic work and positive community spirit everyone!

It's National Boarding Week, and what better time to celebrate all the wonderful experiences our boarders have enjoyed this term? 🙌💙
From go karting and zorb football to pottery painting, inflatable adventures, and rowing along the beautiful river in Knaresborough, our boarders have certainly kept busy. They've also enjoyed spending quality time with some of our most popular residents - Ned the dog and our much loved cats!
Our boarding community is made up of incredible young people from both the UK and around the world, bringing a wonderful mix of cultures, perspectives and experiences to school life. Their enthusiasm, friendships and vibrant personalities enrich our community every day, and we're so grateful to have them as part of it.
A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated Boarding staff, whose care, support and commitment help make our boarding community such a special place.
We can't wait to see where our next boarding adventures take us!

What happens when you mix curious pupils, plants, fruit and science? An unforgettable day for Year 1 at Stockbridge Technology Centre! 🌿🔭
Our young explorers got hands on with nature by planting seeds and potting herbs in the morning before becoming food detectives in the afternoon, taste testing a variety of fruits and discovering where they come from around the world.
The adventure continued with a fascinating tour of the glasshouses, where they learnt how scientists carry out investigations to test different types of compost.
A huge thank you to everyone at Stockbridge Technology Centre for such an inspiring experience. We're especially excited that our plants will continue to be cared for over the next few weeks before making their way back to school and then home with the children!

Making waves and breaking records! 🥉🏊
Our young swimmers certainly made a splash at the UK IAPS National Finals over the weekend!
Competing at the iconic London Aquatics Centre, the team powered their way to a bronze medal in the Cannon Relay, set a new Bootham school record and even broke the IAPS national record along the way. What a performance!
From lightning fast relay legs to record breaking individual swims, it was a fantastic day that showcased the hard work, determination and team spirit of every swimmer.
We're incredibly proud of this talented group and all they have achieved.

🌱 Things are really growing at our Pocket Park! 🌱
Our plant power pupils have been getting their hands dirty and putting down roots in this wonderful community space, helping it continue to flourish for people and wildlife alike.
The Pocket Park has been transformed by College pupil Felix, whose passion for boosting biodiversity in York has seen the area bloom with hardy, predominantly native species. Thanks to his vision and ongoing care, this once overlooked space is now a thriving green haven just a stone's throw from the city centre.
Here's a budding preview of Felix guiding some of our BEAST pupils as they help plant even more greenery and breathe new life into the park.
We're so proud to see our pupils helping nature blossom and proving that even small spaces can make a big impact. Keep up the green work, everyone - you're all unbe-leaf-able!

Our riders really stirrup-ed some success at the NSEA National Championships! 🐎
Over half term, three Bootham riders headed to Hickstead for the NSEA National Championships - and they certainly didn't horse around when it came to representing the school.
From a national silver medal and Championship debuts to double clears and new qualifications, Oliver, Emily and Isabelle achieved some fantastic results while showing the determination, partnership and sportsmanship that make us so proud.
Whether it was bouncing back from challenges, celebrating personal bests or supporting one another throughout the weekend, every rider and horse gave their all.
A huge well done to Oliver, Emily and Isabelle, and thank you to the families and supporters who helped make the trip possible.

Ahead of the half term break, our nursery pupils went on an oaty adventure inspired by The Magic Porridge Pot. They made and tasted their own porridge and collected data on their favourite toppings - chocolate and honey were porridge-ly the top picks!
It’s been an oat-standing learning journey as we bring the magic of everyday experiences into our classroom.
We can’t wait to see what food-tastic fun comes next after half term! 🥣✨

A brilliant evening for our College students as they stepped into the world of The Great Gatsby and discovered that the party spirit reached far beyond West Egg.
Watching the high energy adaptation by Pop Yer Clogs Theatre at Theatre @ 41, students embraced all the glamour, drama and excitement of the Roaring Twenties.
This was also our final English department theatre trip with our current College Two cohort - and while not every chapter lasts forever, their enthusiasm for Literature and performance has left a lasting story.
Here’s to the green light ahead - we’ll miss them and wish them every success and happiness in whatever comes next 💙✨
