The National Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards 2026 is around the corner, celebrating excellence across Social Care. We are BURSTING with pride that our Moorview Matters Group are finalists for The People’s Award 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This photo was taken at last year's ceremony, and what a night it was! It was such a delight to be there amongst so many rock star Support Workers, Supported People and our wider community of Care and Support Providers, and connect with everyone.

You will remember that our very own brilliant Shegs won the Support Worker Award, which makes us incredibly proud!

Moorview Matters were also finalists last year too, and everyone got up on stage to celebrate with Shegs when he won!

This year, Chairperson Caitlin will be representing Moorview Matters along with long-time Moorview Matters Representative, Zoe. The ladies are excited and have already been dress-shopping for the event! πŸ‘—βœ¨

Cross everything for us, and best of luck to all of the finalists!

Every 6 months, our team votes for Values Heroes. 🌟πŸ’ͺ

Here's what our team had to say about our WINNER TRUST 🀝 - Layton in our Whitby Team.

"Layton has shown unwavering dependability during an incredibly challenging period, supporting complex medical appointments and hospital admissions with dignity and compassion. They have gone above and beyond, travelling, working additional hours and ensuring communication between professionals and the team was clear and effective. Layton's commitment and reliability have made a profound difference to both the people they support and the wider team." πŸ’š

We are thrilled to share with you a snippet of our latest podcast episode πŸŽ™οΈ, recorded live at our Moorview Matters meeting!

It was a really exciting moment as we announced to all of the members that they are finalists in the Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards for the People's Award! 🌟🌟🌟

An incredible achievement, and their fourth year of being nominated for a National Award!

First up, Robyn speaks to Director of Operations, Nicki Dixon, who is SO proud of everything the group has achieved.

"It matters how THEY want to be supported, being involved in making those decisions, because it is about them. It's got to continue so that we're led by the people we support - rather than it being the other way around."

We couldn't agree more!

It’s PRIDE SEASON, York Pride is TOMORROW, and we are here for it! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

As you know, the ethos of Moorview Care is to empower people to live β€œgloriously ordinary lives”, and isn’t that just what we all want? πŸ’š

The 'ordinary lives' bit doesn’t mean boring - quite the opposite.
It’s an understanding that most humans crave the same things: respect, dignity and the freedom to go about their lives feeling included, seen (yet maintaining their privacy), treated the same as everyone else, AND be completely true to themselves.
It is about erasing judgment or being made to feel different, once and for all!
We are all just normal (whatever that means) and should never EVER feel 'othered'.

Moorview Care is proud to stand by, hand in hand, to raise up the LGBTQIAA+ community. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

As the nation enters Pride Season, we stand with our friends, family, team, our community and all allies to raise awareness of the ever-needed support towards TRUE equality and respect for the LGBTQIAA+ communities. Because sadly (even in 2026) we aren’t there yet, but with Pride Season growing year on year, we are getting closer every time!

HAPPY PRIDE! πŸŽ‰

Hear from our Business Support Team, based in York, ahead of the York Pride celebrations tomorrow!

πŸ’š for ALL!
